Meet Fallon Hamilton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fallon Hamilton.

Fallon, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Growing up, I found refuge in the pages of books and spent numerous hours writing my name over and over and over again. I lost a sibling to gun violence when I was in the 4th grade and words helped me through my grief. My main coping mechanism throughout life has been to put my feelings into words. A series of breakups, followed by a relationship I thought was going to last forever, but did not, motivated me to put my words in one place. An Ode was born out of my heartache, but the completed body of work represents my healing. I wanted to share my words with everyone in hopes that it would create a healing journey that we could all experience together.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has never been smooth, and if things are going too smoothly, I start to get suspicious. Some of my greatest accomplishments have been born out of struggle.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
By day, I am a legal aid attorney. When I’m not busy fighting for justice, I am a self-proclaimed “authorpreneur” and businesswoman. My first book was published in late November 2018 and since then, I have been working diligently to build my brand as well as starting on my next book.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood is that of a Thanksgiving Day with my whole family, prior to my older brother being murdered. The togetherness, the fun with all of my cousins, that level of carefreeness that was encapsulated in that day has never been recreated. At that moment, I felt invincible and the safest I have ever felt in my life.
