Meet G Peoples

Today we’d like to introduce you to G Peoples.

G Peoples, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
It’s been a hell of a journey. I first gained a lot of exposure through my modeling in Dallas, TX I loved the idea of using my body as a form of creative expression, being able to transmit so much through just a photo. All that creative energy transformed into writing as I continuously searched and practiced different methods of expression, thus leading to a world of poetry I quickly became submerged in. After discovering my writing was also a form of therapy, I released the series of poetry books titled “Trials of Perspectives”. After the release many friends & family members encouraged me to try music… But I was always such an introvert it was hard for me to really open up & tap into my own sound. Until one day, a friend who is now my go-to producer asked me to feature on one of his beats for fun. From there everything unfolded as it was meant to and it leads me right here where I am today. I released an EP June 2019, and recently released my official album Wherever I May Go!

Has it been a smooth road?
Life is never a smooth road, as it’s not meant to be. Every individual goes through their own trials. For me personally, it’s battling all the obstacles that come with making your dream reality while also raising a child. The working a day job or two to provide the money you need to invest in yourself creatively & provide for your family. The moments when you have to say no to partying because you have to go work on a song or have a photoshoot planned. The unpredictability that comes with life; whether it’s wrecking your mode of transportation, ending up in jail, or fighting with the despair that comes at your lowest moments. The struggles never end, I see them more so as a guide. My biggest accomplishments come from continuing to persevere through life’s storms.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
As I said I continuously search for different methods of expression, my biggest goal is to expand & master all crafts that come to my mind. So I like to think of myself as just an artist of life. I’m a musical artist with rap/hip-hop my main avenue but also jumping from genre to genre like pop & and some indie. I’m an author & poet. I’m half of YSTV podcast with my brother Papiii as the other half. I’m a photographer with an expanding skill set into videography. A spiritual influencer and lastly, I’m one-fifths of the board of director for A New Walk On Life non-profit organization.

The thing I’m most proud of is expanding into different areas and never settling. Like a creative entrepreneur. My business partner/brother & I continue to push each other beyond limits and I say that’s the most beautiful thing- continuing to push each other to new levels of growth. The only thing that sets me or him apart from anyone else is the simple fact that we don’t believe in limitations. Anyone can do what we do, it’s just a matter of belief.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The best thing about the city that I love is the creative people whom I’ve crossed paths with. There’s so so so much beautiful, unknown, amazing talent that rises to the surface everyday! I love seeing it and being apart of it! The least thing is probably that I don’t think a lot of people realize the potential this city has. Furthermore, I think too many creatives doubt their abilities out of their own fears. Maybe they don’t realize it, there’s times when I’m like that too, but there’s an infinite power you feel when you’re open, vulnerable and put your creativity out into the universe.
