Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriel Cole.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Gabriel. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
College is a blurry time for everyone. For me, it wasn’t very easy to chose between my analytical side and my creative side. I decided merging the two would be my best bet, and I found myself in a marketing course that challenged me in ways that I had never been challenged before. I loved it! I was able to create and use many of my strengths to develop plans that helped businesses succeed. I knew this was the birth of a new passion.
I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Marketing Communications and went on to pursue my Masters in Management. For the last five years, I have been in the marketing world, helping businesses of all sorts find their way. I’ve had the honor of working in industries including entertainment, advertising, auto, staffing, health, beauty, and photography. Exposure to a variety of industries has allowed me to become an expert in the marketing basics. Over the years, I have gained knowledge and perspectives from a vast amount of leaders and mentors that I believe sets me apart.
In 2019, I decided it was time to take my expertise and start my first side hustle. Symbolic Solutions! I was nervous about venturing out on my own, but I knew it was time. I officially launched my consulting in January 2020. Symbolic Solutions is my passion that focuses on helping small businesses creating meaningful, impactful, and strategic marketing. I focus on affordability, flexibility, and symbolism. My goal is to create marketing that will not only help your organization grow but also be a direct representation of your business’s purpose. I focus on making businesses symbolic through their marketing, which in turn helps them expand their revenue.
Aside from marketing, creative writing has always been a passion of mine. I have been writing poetry since I was seven years old. I have been performing spoken work for the past ten years. My first self published book, Expressions 60, was released in March of 2017 through Amazon. My poetry is reflective of self-expression and emotions that can be easier to put down on paper than say directly. I pride myself on allowing my poetry to flow from my heart and intuition, and I feel that’s why it becomes relatable to others. Poetry will be something I continue doing in combination with my marketing consulting, and I believe it will bring the same joy of that merge I created in college!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The biggest obstacle for me with Symbolic Solutions was getting started. I was most afraid of failure and rejection. I often questioned my abilities and doubted that someone would actually trust me with their business. After many conversations with colleagues, family, and friends, I decided to take that leap of faith. Every day I feel like I am still taking that leap, but it has been much more rewarding! I enjoy what I do even with the challenges of pushing through the self doubt. I know with consistency, disciple, and confidence, the self doubt will vanish and no longer be an obstacle for me.

Symbolic Solutions is the passion of a marketing consultant who believes in meaningful marketing that truly symbolizes business, and it’s the overall brand. Symbolic Solutions aims to help clients meet their marketing goals through purposeful, impactful, strategic marketing. It starts with your business. Next is the vision, and together, we develop a strategy!
The main areas of focus are basic branding, marketing strategy, event planning, social media marketing, and digital marketing. I also provide full service freelance marketing to small businesses who are in need of contracted marketing professionals to assist on a long term basis. My website provides detailed information about what each service entails as well as pricing. My goal with Symbolic Solutions is to truly help businesses truly grow and BE symbolic.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
In the future, I plan on turning my brand into a lifestyle through business relationships, networking events, apparel, and blogging. I aspire to work with other entrepreneurs in Houston and connect on a business level that is beneficial to both parties. I also plan to purchase a workspace soon and launch Symbolic Events, which will mirror the Symbolic Solutions brand and focus on bringing businesses together. Symbolic Solutions training classes will also be soon providing businesses with opportunities to learn more about marketing. I am excited to see what the future holds and know it will be very symbolic of my passions.
