Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Mailloux.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Where do I even begin!? I started from the bottom. I knew absolutely nothing about photography and I was awful with customer service because of how shy I was… But boy did all that change in the blink of an eye, literally. I started my business on November 22nd of 2018 with just asking a few friends on Instagram if they would like to have their children model for me for Christmas themed photos. I started out with just one or two people who were interested, and then all of the sudden it turned into 30 people who were interested and that’s the moment I knew what I was doing wasn’t just a hobby anymore, it was the start of the rest of my life as a photographer. Those 30 people quickly turned into 130 people as I sit here six months later typing this. I stay up throughout the night to watch YouTube videos on how to make my photography better, and I’m constantly trying to better myself and my business.
I have grown so much since I started my business, I’ve learned how to interact with people on a day to day basis, I’m learning how to create a story through photographs for you to cherish forever. The most satisfying part about being a photographer is the joy you bring to people through your photographs and that means more to me than money ever will. I take pride in being able to say that I’m an affordable professional photographer because I want to give you what you’re paying for, I work around the clock to provide my clients with the best experience possible. Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Every business has their rough patches! For me, it would be that I have been overbooking myself, which I’m honestly not trying to sound cocky or anything but it’s the truth! I’ve had 130+ clients in a 5 1/2 month time span and that’s insane! I also have two children and work full time as a School Photographer at Interstate solutions and publishing co. so I just overdid myself with work and have been extremely stressed out but it’s getting smoother now. 🙂 I’m very grateful for all my clients and the support I have gotten along the way.

Gardner Photography is an traveling, affordable photography company in the Houston area! I take pride in my very affordable price range for photo sessions because I believe you should be getting what you pay for! I specialize in Family photography and Weddings/Engagements mainly but I do every style of photography you can think of! Gardner Photography’s main purpose is to capture your stories through our photographs that will create memories that last a lifetime. The best part about being a photographer is seeing how happy your work makes other people, there is no better feeling! Gardner Photography is known for having very affordable, high-quality images and the owner, Taylor Gardner likes to provide a fun, energetic environment during photoshoots so the client will feel less more comfortable and relaxed during photos! I’m very passionate about my company, I take the time to explain sessions in detail, answer any questions you may have, I try to travel to a location close to you for your convenience, I always try to reply within an hour & lastly my clients aren’t just clients, they are my friends.

I’ve had no help along the way, I’ve created my business from the dirt up all by myself and I couldn’t be more proud of myself. I have two beautiful children & a loving husband who supports me everyday in this journey!
