Meet Hannah Raj of Home Spa Studio in West Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Raj.

Hannah, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
From a very young age, I have always been interested in beauty related field. Which made me the odd one in the family. While my sisters were buried in studies, which was expected of us but I was always off doing my hair, trying new products, watching countless youtube channels teaching myself about makeup and skincare. Sooner than later, I had to get serious about my career, I ventured into retail, determined it was only going to be for a short term. Well, God had other plans, I was able to learn and grow in retail more than expected. I achieved several promotions in few years. Which eventually turned into a full-time career for seven years.

Even though I was content with my day to day business, my heart was still set on beauty. I have serious passion for helping individuals to improve self-confidence, even if it is just consider vanity for some. I don’t see it that way. On May 2018, I opened my own Spa Studio. I offer permanent makeup. Every day I get to see my clients eyes twinkle when they see the finished brows. I can’t ask for a more rewarding experiences. Changing lives one eyebrow at a time!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting something of your own is never easy. Conveying your vision for your business is difficult. I have had several obstacles, doubts from family and friends and fear of failing. This journey is meant to be solo, well at least in my story.

Challenges – You are your own financial advisers, self marketer, self managed, self starter, etc. I have learned to wear several hats throughout this journey. With no experience, comes, a lot of set backs however this is just a beginning of a much bigger vision. I am a strong-willed individual, so with faith and positive attitude Im ready to face anything.

Home Spa Studio – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I specialize in permanent makeup – Microblading, Ombre Brows, Nano Brows and Lip blush tattoo. From 3D feathered brow hair strokes to ombre powder brows and to the newest digital machine hair strokes (nano brows) I offer it all. My eagerness to learn and keep up with the newest modern technique helps my clients to make an informed decision. There is no one size (or method) fits all. Each client is catered to their individuality. My passion is to perfect the shape, color, and contour of your most striking facial feature to accentuate the natural and beautiful look you desire!

Among the first to do Nano Brows in Houston. This is an advanced method to Microblading, commonly also known as Micro-pigmentation, actually get its name from the needle used, a nano needle. It is a Micro-needle connected to a conventional needle device implants the pigment into the Dermis, the second layer of the skin. This method is less invasive and gives longer retention. Hair strokes are clean and crisp. While microblading is not suited for oily skin, nano digital brows can be performed on all skin types.

As an artist, I have set an high expectation for myself, I am adamant to bring the latest techniques and tools to Home Spa Studio. To give my client that attention to detail and that extra time to achieve the desired results.

Also, I’m proud to say, I offer free brows for all cancer survivors all year long. Best part of my work!!!

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is mostly rated with monetary achievement, which in my opinion, is a temporary thinking. Longterm success comes from having a positive impact on peoples lives.
