Meet Hannah Robinson of Hannah Robinson Design Studio in North Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Robinson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Hannah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my company almost exactly a year ago. After working in corporate environments for several years during and after college, I experienced what I like to describe as “creative burnout”. The thing that I loved doing the most (design) was being hindered and controlled to the point of simply doing as I was told. Although I was thankful for my employment, there was a desire in me that wanted to give so much more. My creativity, my knowledge, and my services were being bottled up and I wanted to share. In December 2016 I gave my two weeks and planned to run my own design studio at the start of the New Year. I wasn’t sure if I would succeed, I didn’t know exactly what I was doing, I was simply following that passion I feel God had instilled in me long ago. One year later, I’m looking back at the journey and am so thankful. Not only have I been provided for in the area of finding clients, but also finances, and have made more money than I did at my previous job. I have had the opportunity to work with amazing entrepreneurs from multiple states, London, and Barbados, delivering them unique and professional design work and developing friendships along the way.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Running a business is never easy. Between the finances, competition, marketing and exposure, it can be stressful. I believe the hardest part is truly believing in yourself and your talents. I will always claim that my business has run smoothly because of prayer and hard work, but there will always be hiccups. Sometimes you create your absolute best work, only for it to be turned town. Most of the time you find yourself being sucked into the constant comparison trap of others in your field, and the worst of all is when you think down on yourself. I think we can all admit to hitting that bump more than once, seeing what others do and create and wishing we were that good. Allowing ourselves to be tricked into a negative state of mind. This year has already taught me that we are all so unique, and important. We can’t compare our Chapter 1 to someone else’s Chapter 20, and as long as we do our best today, and tomorrow, we will grow and flourish in time, in our own way…in the best way.

Please tell us about Hannah Robinson Design Studio.
I run a design studio that brings refinement and finesse to brands through art direction, identity creation, website design, and videography. I take care in crafting a brand or logo design that reflects my clients’ personality, style, and business. By equipping my clients with timeless designs and signature brands, I place them in front of their dream clients dressed for success.

I am most proud of the confidence that I have given my clients with their new branding. Experiencing that moment when they see their logo for the first time and being absolutely ecstatic, makes me the happiest designer. They then go out into the world proud of the way their business looks, and can show off their talents without any hindrance. It’s the best reward.

What I believe sets me apart is that I care deeply about my clients, and NOT as a marketing scheme. I have a passion for using my talents to serve, and elevate their business, and help them be more profitable and confident in what they do.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I struggled with perfection a lot in the beginning, and only now am I seeing how that hinders growth. I would have believed in myself more at the start, and allowed myself more grace. Changing those things early on would have made a huge difference in my business.
