Today we’d like to introduce you to Hauvy.
Hauvy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Started back in Pittsburgh, PA where I played football and was looking forward to going to college to play. I hurt my shoulder and my Dad moved our family to Houston, TX. Being in Houston was different especially because i didn’t know anybody. Working I met DJ Anthraxx and Chris Wayne. Hanging out with them going to Anthraxx gigs and freestyling just having fun is what ultimately lead me into doing music. First time I freestyled Chris Wayne started to say I should really pursue it because I was talented but I never did any kind of music outside of writing a song when I was eight after I saw Get Rich or Die Trying. Seeing him and Anthraxx going to gigs and getting paid really inspired me to try this and pursue this seriously. Anthraxx was a real inspiration to me and music just being around him so much and him being a DJ just put me on and change my perspective on things when it came to me really wanting to do this. Once I actually started writing I fell in love and haven’t looked back yet. Since then which was about 2015, I just been making freestyles and writing. This year on May 5th I released my first project entitled “Hear Me Out”.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well of course getting hurt in football and seeing my dream slip was tough along with moving to Houston. All I knew was Pittsburgh and Football so that move to Houston was a big change and adjustment for me.
Please tell us about your music.
I currently am a music artist. I’m proud that I’m able to inspire and tell my story through music. What sets me apart is that I come with different situations and stories. People can relate to what I’m talking about. I pride myself in being 100% authentic only talking about things I’ve done or saw. I’m a genuine person and portraying that through my music is important to me.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Hard work and determination for sure. Never quitting something I started as well as always betting on myself.
