Today we’d like to introduce you to Héctor Márquez.
Héctor, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I began shooting in 2015. I was inspired by other creative minds I was around. The name comes from a combination of love experience and a desire to learn something new as one of my fraternity brothers did when he combine his passion with a new culture. He loves to cut hair and the name of our fraternity is Omega Delta Phi Fraternity Inc. also known as ODPhi. He became ODPhadez. To me, that was just as sick as it could be! Naturally, I looked up to him since I met him as an alumni and as someone who was making it doing what he loved! I did the exact same thing; started with hmphotography to now ODPhotoz. I love what I do and always ready to do something new and provide a good experience. My motto is” I picture you differently” and it’s precisely what I do. I try to make the shoot as unique as possible and give you a shot that no other photographer could think of.
Has it been a smooth road?
The lack of time is my biggest obstacle. I’ve always been in school and working one or two jobs while doing photography and I’ve managed to stay consistent.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with ODPhotoz – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I want to do more of everything so far graduations seem to be my go too which so far works perfectly for me because of school and work it gives me time to get ready and plan it accordingly. I want to do more of couples shoots along with wedding photography, I am building a studio in my home so one day, I can open it and shoot there with all the necessary equipment.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Houston, it is so diverse and it gives us the opportunity to try everything. I dislike the long traffic lines when it’s time to shoot it’s an inconvenience for the clients and me.
