Today we’d like to introduce you to Honey O.
Honey, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m originally from West Africa, Lagos Nigeria to be specific. But I moved from there to the Bay Area in California for high school. I became a citizen, and now I reside in Houston, Texas. I’m a lover of music, traveling, fashion, art, and anything else that makes me smile & puts me in a great mood. Since I moved here, being the very social, talkative, & easy-going person I am, I’ve been able to network and build friendships & business partners across the city of Houston and also across the United States. I love it here. I went to the University of Houston, studied Psychology & Kinesiology with a minor in Food & nutrition studies, which kinda makes me laugh because I completely ended up with goals and dreams in the nightlife industry instead.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
You know they say the path to success is never a smooth one, but I would like to give a huge shout out to God & my family & mentors for instilling me with the knowledge, attitude, advice and books to know that life is what you make of it. I choose to look at life in a positive way, therefore, I know there are always going to be struggles along the way to reach my goals and full potential, but I plan to always remember to look at life positively, learn from my mistakes, never make the same mistakes twice, understand that everything happens for a reason, and to never stop & never settle. I do enjoy when the road is smooth though, makes drinking champagne even more fun!
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am one of the MoetHennessy model samplers & brand ambassadors in the city of Houston under a team known as #TeamHennessy. I love my job and my coworkers because it’s a really fun way to socialize and continue building my network and experience & sponsor amazing events across the city, from weddings & fashion/art shows to birthday parties & activations at most of Houston’s elite clubs.
I’m known mostly for making sure that everyone around me or Team Hennessy is having a great time. Making sure everyone gets a sample taste of our different Hennessy cocktails; taking pictures with guests, and just spreading a good vibe. I enjoy introducing and bringing people together who share things in common. It helps build a strong network for everyone around me. Under the arm of DJ Geraldo, and SEG. I also work as a therapist for children and I’m a aspiring real estate investor. I plan on starting my own personal marketing brand in 2021.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Imagine if you found a Genie’s lamp, and you could ask for three wishes… I believe that most people will ask for the three most important things that would make them happy. Personally, I would define success as granting those three wishes for yourself through hard work, consistency, faith & passion. For me, success would be reaching my full potential, being happy in good health, finding & accomplishing my true purpose in life, and making my family happy & proud while being surrounded by all the little things in life that I’m grateful for. Of course, being a part of the Taurus zodiac sign, I do love a life of luxury, I enjoy driving sports cars, so that’s definitely one of my goals besides financial stability.
