Jade, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Styling hair and the beauty industry have always been a major part of my life. The first time I got paid to do hair, I believe I was in the seventh grade, and it was in my room at my mom’s house. When I graduated high school and went to Texas Southern University, I was doing hair out of my room in campus housing to make money.
I eventually moved off campus to my own apartment where I turned my dining room into a mini salon and worked from home. I honestly postponed trying to get my own salon because I was so focused on school. Now that I am months away from graduation, I decided to take a chance and look for office spaces to rent. I did not want this to just be a hair salon but more so a beauty boutique where I offered many different services and also sold products.
I took a course to become a certified microblading technician as well as a lash extension technician and added these services to my business. I found a space, found supplies, researched different marketing materials, created my website, Instagram, business account and began to take clients.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So far things have been running smoothly, but the one struggle I would say that I had was expecting things to take off overnight. Starting a business is a journey rather than a quick trip to success.

Jade Dior Microblading & Beauty, is a multi-service beauty boutique. We offer services like lash extensions, eyebrow microblading, braids, sewins, and custom wigs. We also sell luxury hair extensions and 3D mink lashes. Our salon gives you a more one on one experience with your technician or stylist.
We also like to create a relaxing environment while you receive your beauty service. We strive to help enhance your beauty and make you feel good inside and out. Jade Dior Microblading & Beauty Services does not fall into just one category in the beauty industry making it perfect for all races and genders.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career is yet to come but so far having the courage to quit my part-time job and focus completely on my business was major for me.
It solidified that I was actually serious about following my dreams of being a business owner. Making a decision on my own without consulting anyone else, I was proud of myself.
