JaKayla, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
On July 1st, 2019 I launched the official Lashed By Jewel website. After months of planning and ideas coming to life, I became a 21-year-old entrepreneur. This whole process has been so so surreal and the support I have been receiving is unmatched. The inspiration behind my brand Lashed By Jewel is definitely simple. I was pretty much known for wearing lashes almost every day and people would always ask me where I get them from or who did my lashes and I always answered Me! I’ve always had a passion for business and knew that I wanted to have my own business. Lashed By Jewel has shaped and molded me in many different ways.
Has it been a smooth road?
I definitely wouldn’t say a smooth road because I’m my own team I do everything on my own! It does get overwhelming at times. When it comes to making the products, packaging, shipping and definitely the marketing side, I do it all but I won’t complain at all because I know that this is what I’m called to do and I will not fail. I make everything all work out and come together.

At Lashed By Jewel, I specialize in eyelash extensions and eyelash strips. I’m known for offering my clients a lash that best fits them. Everyone is different! Some people want different looks, long, short, wispy, full, etc. I am most proud of the growth of my company. I didn’t come in looking at how much I could charge or how much I’d make in my business. This is truly a passion for me. It’s so amazing and such a great feeling to see people trusting and believing in you enough to make purchases from you.
