Today we’d like to introduce you to James Krueger.
James got into real estate because, from the bottom of his heart, he loves helping people. It was a huge personal challenge for James to decide whether it was the right time to transition from agent to broker. He struggled greatly with the idea of losing the daily personal contact with clients and taking on the responsibility of holding other people’s livelihoods in his company, but he overcame that initial resistance by looking outside of himself and seeing how he could impact his agents and their careers. At first, his passion was helping his clients find their homes. Now, as a business owner, he’s not just helping the customers, he’s helping his agents build their own fulfilling careers. By developing talented and enthusiastic agents, he’s able to indirectly touch more lives than he could have ever done on his own.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was a huge personal challenge to decide whether it was the right time to transition from agent to broker. I struggled greatly with the idea of losing the daily personal contact with clients and taking on the responsibility of holding other people’s livelihoods in my company, but I overcame that initial resistance by looking outside of myself and seeing how I could impact my agents and their careers. Taking the leap has never been easy but it has always been rewarding and it’s not a decision I would ever make differently. Going from just me to over 50 agents has been not only my greatest challenge in real estate, but also my greatest challenge in my life. I never had a management type job and I never owned a company. We’ve had quite a few growing pains along the way. A lot of trial and error. Definitely a lot of time and sacrifice on my part, and I’m glad I have a very supportive family. Somehow, we’ve managed to continue growing at a terrific pace.
Please tell us about K Real Estate.
I am known to dream way too big sometimes. I am an overachiever and workaholic. I bend over backwards for my clients and now for my agents and team. A long time ago, when searching for what career path to go down, I saw a common thread in all the books I read… find something that you can help people. I genuinely get to help both agents and clients and it’s a very rewarding combination.
I created Krueger Real Estate with a unique brokerage model and strategy that is a little different than most. I desired a client first mentality and to think outside the box when it came to personalizing the real estate process. I thrive on zigging where others zag and our consistent growth proves that to be the discerning difference. Krueger Real Estate is only successful if our agents are successful. I invest heavily in time, energy and resources for my agents. I believe in contributing to their business and personal development through training and leadership. I provide quite a bit for my agents. With that in mind, KRE seeks out the very best agents, especially those that demonstrate a desire to help their clients with integrity, honesty, and a can do, positive attitude. By having top-notch agents on board, we are then able to deliver the highest possible service to our clients.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I have always loved challenges – I caught a calf in the calf scramble (Matagorda Rodeo); Salutatorian of my HS class; All American in Archery all four years; member of national championship team all four years; after college, played a ton of intramural sports; now spend a majority of my time building a fantastic brokerage.
