Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Pringle.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jasmine. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I remember working for this company helping executives and I’m working as hard as them but didn’t have as much flexibility nor was I getting paid as much as them. So when I decided to go back to school for accounting they couldn’t accommodate me so I switched companies for more flexibility and assistance with school but I ended up HATING IT. I started school for esthetics 5/5/16. In my mind I was like I’ll learn make up quit my job then I’ll go to school full time and do make up part time. I went to work for the bank from 6 am to 3pm straight to school from 5pm to 10 pm. That two hr gap between school and work was for the Houston traffic.
While in school, I met my teacher Ms. Brandi Allen she spoke with the class about lash extensions and the growing industry. So I asked her to teach me waaaay before it was on the curriculum. Two months into school I was already taking clients for tips using that money for supplies, tuition and whatever else. I did lashes out my apartment and I worked at Hair God’s barbershop in Acres Home. I have worked with sooooo many people I even tried being mobile until I got sick of packing my heavy bed. I been blessed to have worked all over Houston. I met Celebrity Hairstylist Coddi Smith who owns Hawt Haus where I am located now in Downtown Houston thru Instagram. She saw my work and was a customer first when I was in my apartment. We clicked instantly and after visiting me a few times she told me she had a suite for rent and I’ve been working with her ever since.
Has it been a smooth road?
I remember crying on the way to work. Lol, I was sooooo sleepy. I hated that place. I struggled to gain new customers because my schedule wasn’t so flexible. Once I saw that I was consistently turning people down due to me working I took a leap of faith and quit. Even though I gained a new challenge of time management because I now work for myself it’s a peaceful struggle. I have to make sure my business is running smooth all across the board from marketing down to equipment and supplies. The struggle I have now is wishing it was more time in a day.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with The La’Flare District – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I went to Ogle Beauty School for esthetics. I’m a certified lash technician. I also took two additional lash extension classes. I’m known for my ability to provide my clients with their desired fullness and beautiful lash styles. I’m very proud to have such a supportive clientele that loves me and when I’m not present spread my brand name and speak highly of me. What sets me apart from others is the flexibility with my scheduling and my professionalism.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I LOVE everything about Houston. This my birthplace. What’s not to love the culture here is amazing and very influential. We have a little bit of everything when it comes to food, things to do, where to live, and job opportunities.
