Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Boldt.
Hi Jason, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
In January 2022, I was officially diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. The lead up to this diagnosis was over a year, but the symptoms started so many years before that.
I’ve had several nudges from God over the last few months to share my story. In March of 2022, He gave me a direction for my story and an avenue to share. I plan to use this platform as a blog to give you the back story and the lead up to the diagnosis and daily blessings and struggles that bring blessings later.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been smooth at all, and at times, it’s been tough. MS messes with your mind because one day you can do some things, and the next day you can’t, like buttoning a shirt, tying your shoes, mowing the grass, running, and even walking a straight line get complicated. One day I can be perfectly fine and the next day, I just want to sit and relax all day, feeling winded from just walking up and down some stairs. You think about your old self and where you are now, and it can be depressing. I must stay focused on God, stay focused on new tasks He has for me, and keep moving forward for others in His Grace. Each day that is a good day is as blessing, and I am also learning a new mindset to find the blessing in the bad days. It’s a new lesson I am forcing myself to learn to be grateful to God for the things I often overlook.
I speak a lot about God and His tie into my walk through MS. That has been a turning point for me through all of this. Without my Faith, support, and people praying for me, I don’t think I would be progressing the way I have today. It motivates me to be better, find healthier alternatives, be open to non-traditional methods of treatment, and to be aware of my general health for those who depend on me to be around for the long haul.
The cost is expensive, but the investment in my health while the disease is relatively in the early stages of my situation is key to overcoming the struggles and challenges so many people who walk this same path I am on the phase in their later years. I have no interest in being in a wheelchair, so every day, my focus is to walk, be active, get ample exercise, and not quit. There are days when it would be easier to sit on the couch, not finish the chores, or just feel sorry for myself, but those days do more damage to my mind and body than it would to tough it out and suffer through the pain, discomfort, inconvenience, and lack of being able to go at it 100% than doing nothing at all.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I work for Abbot Benefits Group in Tomball as a Producer Agent. Our team of insurance professionals has been providing group medical insurance, group health insurance and employee benefits to small and medium-sized Texas businesses and their employees for 40 years.

We understand your business, because we operate just like you! We shine when we serve other small businesses, passing on savings and support to you and your employees.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
My wife, Shayla and I have been married for 16 years and have resided in the Tomball area all of that time. We have two girls who attend Tomball ISD Schools and are active in their education and extra curricular activities. Prior to coming to work with Abbot Benefits 4 years ago, I had nearly 15 years of sales, marketing, and operations experience within the food service distribution arena.
Our family are members at The Brook Church in Tomball. I serve on the Tech Team, Men’s Ministry Leader, Bible Class teaching rotation, and also serve as a Small Group Leader. In addition, I spend time serving on our community Homeowners Association Board of Directors. I am a 4-H Certified Rifle Coach for 4-H Shooting Sports in Harris County and am affiliated with the Northwest Shooters 4-H club in Cypress where I am the Head BB Coach. I am a volunteer for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Transportation Committee Volunteer.
For fun and relaxation, I enjoy agriculture/ranching, civics, High School Football (Friday Night Lights), cooking, and preparing meals for large groups of people. Our family has a small cattle operation where we enjoy hobby ranching with our land and herd in Weimar, TX.
