Meet Jenna Brooks of Meraki Haus

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Brooks.

Hi Jenna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I believe in authenticity, and it is hard to express what shaped me to be who I am today because it was everything in my life so far. The good, the bad, the ugly, and the magical. So I will do my best. I was born in Oregon as a Mormon, in survival mode with a scarcity and competitive mindset. I didn’t know anything else.

From a very angry/abusive/separated family/home life to a foster home, to mixed families, until I was an adult. It made me tough. I earned my Resilience & I kept my soft heart… they have always been traits to keep me going, one step at a time, while still spreading love. I wasn’t one to fall in love easily until I found my now husband of 12 yrs, Garth Brooks, and it was such an organic kismet experience.

We started with him in the Navy, moving across the country, growing and struggling through life together all while trying to build a future for ourselves. Figuring out what we want and who we are. Especially me. I found Pole and Aerial Fitness in my early 20s in 2014, in Utah, and that led me to fall in love and run passionately with it. I started teaching and performing in 2015, all while helping build and grow studios everywhere I went and worked while hardly getting paid or appreciated.

Which made it extremely hard to get ahead in life, but I love teaching and the empowerment this type of movement brings. I have done it all except build my brick-and-mortar, until now. I competed in many national Pole competitions, placing, losing, and winning. Pole and Aerial Triggered a huge empowerment within me that started the Domino effect on my self-awareness healing journey of all of the trauma I incurred as a child from sexual, physical, and emotional abuse.

I was forced to learn my self-worth from a Judas-esque situation, which led me on the path to discovering and following my dream by triggering a full life uprooting to the magnificent state of Texas in 2020. Where I started rebuilding the foundation of my core and life. Re-evaluating wants and needs. I found my source within myself and knew I wanted to build Meraki Haus – which was just a thought before coming to Texas.

Meraki Haus is all the Joy, play, and life lessons I have learned, put into a physical space to help those on their life journey. To carry on the energy of resilience, love, joy, truth, authenticity, integrity, grit, gratitude, and alignment through the mind, body, and soul. To honor my whole being at every step and hold space to honor all those around me. I have learned to create the world I want to live in and the journey is just getting started.

I have put more than blood, sweat, and tears into Meraki Haus – my whole being and soul. I know that those right people will find this space and grow exponentially from the experience, knowledge, and community that is being built here. More than just a Pole, Aerial, Dance, and Fitness gym in Conroe, Texas.

Meraki: ᴛʜᴇ ꜱᴏᴜʟ, ᴄʀᴇᴀᴛɪᴠɪᴛʏ, ᴏʀ ʟᴏᴠᴇ ʏᴏᴜ ᴘᴜᴛ ɪɴᴛᴏ ꜱᴏᴍᴇᴛʜɪɴɢ. ᴛʜᴇ ᴇꜱꜱᴇɴᴄᴇ ᴏꜰ ʏᴏᴜʀꜱᴇʟꜰ ʏᴏᴜ ᴘᴜᴛ ɪɴᴛᴏ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴡᴏʀᴋ.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not… I wasn’t taught how to build a business nor was I born into financial wealth so it has been all baptism by fire. From dealing with rules and boundaries of the governing bodies to surprise costs of needs. That even thorough plans do not go accordingly!! Anyone who takes the path of building a ground-up brick-and-mortar business is a true multi-faceted being.

I’ve learned by experience of “failure” which is another way to say life lessons. I wouldn’t change a thing. The pebble gets polished by being beaten down the rushing River. The diamond becomes a diamond under intense pressure. I have had to learn how to love living in discomfort and unknowing to find my inner peace at all turns.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Meraki Haus is a Pole, Aerial, Dance, and Fitness gym in Conroe, TX – on the surface. Come learn Pole, Silks, Sling, Lyra, Yoga, Aerial Yoga, handstands, Headstands, forearm stands, flexibility, Soul classes, and more. Whether fitness, hobby, performing, or competing is your goal – there is something for everyone. Classes or private lessons.

There are even open gym times for everyone to practice what they learn in class! Workshops and parties geared towards Bachelorette Parties, Birthdays, Work outings for team building, and just because. The options are vast and we just opened on January 16th, 2023. There is nothing like this studio. We focus on a physically inclined environment with many apparatuses and classes through expansion but also honor the contraction and resting periods with Soul geared classes and recovery.

We also hold a quarterly breath cycle that is a full 7-day closure for a seasonal reset and recharge for everyone. We take care of our Mavens (instructors) because they are what helps makes this Haus what it is. On top of our amazing patrons/students. We have a good balance of business boundaries while holding a personable human-esque standard or “home” feeling. Meraki Haus is a space of authenticity and connection whether that’s within yourself or with others.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
