Julia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always been obsessed with scented candles! Once upon a time (in 2006), my husband and I decided to dive into the candle making business. At that time making candles was more of a fun hobby. Over the years, the requests of making more and more of these candles fed into my passion to develop candles that stood out from the rest! I am a lover of all things that sparkle, have glitter, and shine! My candles have an aroma you can smell without even lighting the wick… and an aroma that lasts in your home for weeks! This is what I truly want to share with the world. Couture Candlez by Jewelz gives you the beauty of a glamorous candle design paired with the ability to indulge in exhilarating scents that will awaken your senses.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With being a small, home-based business, you have to get your name out there through being a vendor at shows because you don’t really have another way to display your products. Marketing is very hard! It’s so easy to give up but because I love candles so much, it’s more of a fun hobby rather than a job, so I keep it going no matter what.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Couture Candlez by Jewelz – what should we know?
My first priority is to do everything I can to meet my customer’s expectations. I am focused on providing high-quality service and complete customer satisfaction. My specialty is handcrafted designs of the containers along with having a variety of breathtaking scents to choose from. My fragrances are highly scented which is a high point for my customers. You can keep the jar open without even lighting the candle and you’ll smell it all over your home.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I think attention to detail and making something you would want to purchase as a customer. Customer focus is always a trivial thing. You want to please your customers at all times. The special décor ideas & details in making my products eye-catching is very important.
