Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie Pistone Krampitz.
Julie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After working in the business side of the real estate industry, my husband, Todd Krampitz founded TK Images in 2002 to combine his passion for real estate and photography. Todd was diagnosed with cancer in 2004 and passed away in 2005. I wanted to continue his vision and passion so I began running his business.
I have been involved in real estate since childhood, first assisting my mother, a successful Realtor who oversaw her own company. From those beginnings, I moved through the ranks of the real estate industry as a licensed Realtor, as well. As a result of selling listings valued from $200,000 to $2 million, I understand the intricacies of working with sellers and the challenges Realtors encounter.
My wide-ranging sales experience encompasses expansive beach-front homes in Los Cabos to on-site sales at a luxury high rise in downtown Houston. My background along with my management and marketing degree ensures I knows how the real estate business operates, what an agent must do to make a sale, what types of images are most effective, and the importance of quality, and timeliness.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been amazing to watch our company grow. We started as a one person team and have now grown to a team of over 20. With this growth, we needed better systems in place. At one point, we knew if we did not get a better scheduling system we would not be able to grow. We researched and customized a scheduling system that has definitely enabled us to grow and to offer better customer service.
We have also found that being a larger company, we are able to offer better customer service as we have the man power to assist our clients at a moment’s notice. In the beginning, I was wearing many hats and of course it is always hard to let go but with the right team it makes it much easier. It is all about teamwork and believing and trusting in your team. Our success is because we have so much passion for what we do and we have a dedicated team that has been with our company for years. We love what we do so it is not just a job or work; it is our passion.

TK Images – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We specialize in architectural photography. We offer an array of services including Photography, Video, Aerial Photography/Video, 3D Interactive Matterport Tours, Virtual Tours, Virtual Staging, Brochures & Photo albums.
We work with Realtors, Builders, Architects, Interior Designers as well as we have photographed many restaurants, salons and even photos for a cookbook.
I am very proud of our team and how long everyone has been with TK Images. This give our clients a comfort level knowing that we are a team and they are not having to work with someone different every time. We are very proud that we were featured on the front page of the Houston Chronicle. Our photos of Briscoe Manor were featured on Bravo TV and TLC. Our photos have been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Southern Living, HBJ, PaperCity Magazine and on the cover of many magazines. We have photographed many Houston Celebrity homes including professional players of the Houston Rockets, Texans and Astros. We photographed the home of the late owner of Tootsie’s as well as the River Oaks home built for a Saudi prince.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Our success is based on having so much passion for what we do, having the right team and having a positive relationship with our clients. We have been in business for 15 years. We are thankful to have worked with so many of our clients as repeat business over the past 15 years as well as gaining new clients every year. Success to us is having happy clients that enjoy working with us. When we receive great feedback then we know we are doing something right. We are always thankful for constructive feedback as well so we can continue to be the best. Having a team that is committed to our company is success.
We believe success is also giving back to your community. We are very proud to volunteer for the Nancy Owens Foundation where we photograph the luncheon and golf tournament each year. We also photograph the CREN Clayshoot that gives scholarships to U of H students studying Real Estate, for 8 years we have participated in Rebuilding Together Houston with HAR YPN. I was also the 2014 HAR YPN Chair and brought in Madison Hildebrand from Bravo TV Million Dollar Listing to draw the largest event that HAR YPN has put on. We photograph HAR’s Engage Event as well as the HAR’s Realtor Celebration event every year. HAR selected one of our photos to be on their billboard and uses our photos for many of their galleries.
As a tribute to my husband, the TK Foundation was formed to raise blood, marrow, organ and tissue donor awareness. I am very happy and honored that the TK Images is actively involved in this foundation each year.
