Meet Kassie Simmons of New Credit New You

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kassie Simmons.

Hi Kassie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, I am an ambitious and educated professional. After obtaining my MBA from the University of Phoenix, I began my career by gaining unparalleled experience in the HR space, leading me to dedicate twelve years to consulting and marketing environments. Although HR was my career choice, I have always dreamed of having an impact on students – making a difference beyond the surface of the grade school level. I was able to take my vision and make it a reality through sound strategy development within the education industry. Respected as a credible voice in decision-making by my influential leadership, passion, and unique connection to others’ success, I earn a seat at the table wherever I serve. After spending a few years working in the education arena for a reputable, well-known college, I learned what truly drives conversions that enhance student involvement—and it’s not mastering the flavor of the week. It’s how well you connect with the heart-beating people you’re trying to help and communicate your understanding back to them. Currently, an Academic Professor at my alma mater college, I provide vision and leadership in developing, integrating, and managing innovative initiatives that support the school’s educational and administrative operations. I provide leadership for the continued development of an innovative, robust, and safe environment throughout the college. As a firm believer in the power of positive thinking in the workplace, I consistently build an atmosphere of empowerment and accountability, allowing me to lead teams’ strategy, processes, and profitability. I am currently the Founder of New Credit New You, LLC, where I master my skills in analyzing, attacking, and assisting consumers with building and improving their credit. Also, frequently speak at financial functions and serve on the leadership board for a non-profit organization.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, absolutely not! For the past six 6 years, I have juggled corporate America, New Credit New You, LLC, working at the college, and caring for my son. In 2021, God whispered in my ear, it is time! I knew it was time for me to abandon one of my career choices, however I loved them all. I was in corporate America for twelve years, recently promoted to a senior management position, and I was genuinely enjoying it. I knew I couldn’t give up working at the campus because of my passion for Education and New Credit New You is beyond a business for me; it’s a ministry. The only option was to let corporate America go.

I cried every day, including during the phone call to let them know I would soon be submitting my resignation letter. My boss cried with me the day of the call, which made it even harder. They offered different options for me to consider staying, but I knew that’s not what God wanted me to do. On May 31, 2021, I said my final goodbyes. That was and has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. That was my main source of income. I truly took a leap of faith to pursue New Credit New You, LLC full time.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the Founder and CEO of New Credit New You. Our mission is to provide credit education while helping customers build the credit necessary to achieve financial freedom and acquire their most desired assets. We believe through faith, ethics, and power, we can provide exceptional credit solutions and education to those whom we serve. We educate and rebuild, while believing through faith, God is preparing the miracle!

New Credit New You, LLC was formed based on personal experience. About fifteen years ago, my son and I were living in a brand-new lease home. I had been there for two years when I received an account statement in the mail. The statement showed I paid $24,000 to this rental company over the past two years; this was a reality check. I realized I put $24,000 into someone else’s property. That day I made up my mind I was moving at the end of my lease. At the end of the lease, I packed all our things, gave most away, and moved into a one-bedroom apartment because my credit was not yet worthy of purchasing a home. I hired a credit company who promised me they would have my credit where it needed to be by the end of my six-month lease. Well, guess what- that didn’t happen and my lease at the apartment was ending. However, my mind was made up.

I wanted to have my own home so, I hired another credit company. This company had different promises, so I moved in with a family member. I was determined. This time around I only had four months because I was staying in her son’s room, and he would be back soon. Take a wild guess of what happened with the second credit company – my credit did not MOVE. I was frustrated and upset, but still determined. Faith without work is dead! I started researching and doing work for myself. Long story short, I increased my own credit score and qualified for my home within the timeframe I was living with family. I called my lender to have him pull my score again, and his words to me were “I’ve never seen this turnaround in this amount of time.” From that day forward I knew God took me that route for a reason, and I decided to use this gift to help others through New Credit New You.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I aspire to help all achieve their greatest potential through financial literacy. People can work with, collaborate, and support me by allowing me to share my story and knowledge with others. Whether it is through networking events, business expos or a simple referral. All I need is an invite or opportunity, and I will let God do the rest.
