I started as a licensed cosmetologist & esthetician in 1995. I began teaching the arts and sciences of cosmetology and esthetics in 2005. As a College Professor, I found myself significantly indulged in helping former students start, or grow their salons, spa’s and med-spas, as well as help reconstruct their business to increase clientele. Graduates would contact me with questions and concerns that really ignited a passion I had hidden. It’s fascinating to hear the brilliant dreams and ideas my clients have. It is such a pleasure to be a part of those dreams manifesting into reality. I love seeing small businesses start up and, most importantly, grow.
Through the process of helping clients business grow, I saw a need to educate and introduce the public to my licensed client’s services and business. The Beauty Brunch by Keneshia was then born. The Beauty Brunch offered a chance for professionals to showcase their skills and talents while promoting their business. Licensed professionals such as estheticians, licensed eyelash specialists, licensed nail technicians. Licensed wigologist, licensed cosmetologist, body contouring, licensed makeup artist, vaginal wellness physicians, wardrobe stylist, couture jewelry, live music, licensed massage therapists, professional photographers, aromatherapists, microblading, and more!
The public is able to have a fun, relaxing, and educational day of pampering, networking, and shopping. Women leave feeling rejuvenated, renewed, and redone with makeup applications, eyebrows, hairstyles, massages, skin therapy, jewelry, and vaginal wellness plus more. Women enjoy gift bags and photo shoots after receiving services, all while enjoying live music and bottomless mimosas. An elegant brunch served with items from eggs to lobsters and other things in between. It is truly a Makeover Extravaganza!
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been as smooth as many would think. The largest struggle is getting over FEAR! That is the hardest thing to overcome. It keeps you stagnant and it keeps your dreams locked and hidden. Once you break through the fear factor, you begin to realize so many people have been waiting for you, waiting for your dream, waiting for a business like yours.
After overcoming fear, everything else falls into place. Even undesirable results is a gain. What some may call failure is actually an opportunity to redirect and improve and ultimately grow.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The best thing about our city is the diversity and large market. I don’t take it for granted that we have a city that attracts people from different ethnicity, backgrounds, ideas and dreams. I believe it keeps this city attractive and in lead of other cities. And it doesn’t hurt that we have vast opportunities for real estate at such reasonable prices compared to other major cities. The cost of living is incredibly affordable, not to mention state taxes.
Where else can you find the best food. Like, any kind. Love Brazilian food? Moroccan? Thai? German? We have it all in Houston. Not to mention all of the festivals we celebrate and, most importantly, the Houston Rodeo & Livestock show. Besides tangible things I love about Houston, Houston is a city that inhabits a spirit of love and support. As history has shown, when things get stuff, Houston pulls together because, as a city we are even tougher.
