Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Barnett.
Kevin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
For the past 15 years, I’ve worked in the fashion/retail industry. I’ve always had a love for people, fashion and helping others achieve their goals. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of today’s top designers and brands and help them gain global exposure from celebrities and reality tv shows. As I made my way throughout my career, I noticed people enjoyed asking me for advice. The questions I received stemmed from fashion advice all the way through where to hang out or where to eat. After the birth of my daughter, I began to think to myself as any new parent would do “how can I provide a better life for my child”? So, I thought about what was I good at? What do I love to do? And how would I be able to buy back time to spend it with my daughter later in life? And then it hit me like a ton of bricks! I wanted to start my own lifestyle agency. The birth of Nett Lifestyle came to me while traveling to Belize for my engagement vacation. I wanted the name of my company to have a part of me and my family and I thought why not use the last part of my name for the business. I lost my father 2 years ago and I wanted to continue our family name, so I decided to dedicate the company name to him.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Nothing in life comes easy and I surely can attest to that. I enjoy every obstacle or challenge I face, it’s the best way for me to understand my flaws and gain the knowledge to help me achieve better results. Having the ability to understand your client needs and being able to decipher between their wants was one of my challenges to start with. Everyone believes their the best at what they do! No one really wants someone to tell them “that doesn’t look good together” or “it’s time for you to discover new places to take your wife”, lol.
So, I took the time to understand what makes people feel good about taking advice from someone. The outcome always circled around trust. The more you can assure your client that you have their best interest at heart the better it is for them to except the brutal truth.

Nett Lifestyle is a team of image consultants, personal stylists, shoppers, and coaches dedicated to elevating and improving our clients’ lifestyles and careers through better image, wardrobe, communication, dining and social choices.
We specialize in simplifying our client’s needs. We’re proud mostly of the environment we’ve created with our clients. Anyone that uses our services is treated like family and we believe that’s one of the best experiences that sets us apart from any other lifestyle brand.
Nett Lifestyle is known for keeping our clients in today’s trends, discovering the best of Houston and informing our clients about what they need to know. We live by our mission statement “Look good. Feel inspired. Reward yourself.”
Throughout the summer, I started a series of networking mixers at The Flat Houston which is located in Montrose. The idea of these mixers was to give back to our local creative community and help support our younger generations of creatives and entrepreneurs. By building this platform for local businesses, I was able to successfully gain new exposure for anyone involved as well as connecting them to their local supporting communities.
My two events were titled:
Classified Friday’s: Creating a welcoming pop up shop environment for like-minded individuals to collaborate together while shopping and supporting small business owners.
Suddenly Famous: showing appreciation to our local photographers. The idea is all about the hidden creator behind the lens and allowing them an opportunity to share an evening around their loyal supporters and network for new business opportunities.

My fiancé had been my biggest supporter, she’s helped me from the start of it all. Without her, I truly don’t believe I could have pushed myself to get out there and try to build my dream. Currently, she is the creative behind our interior design service.
