Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Mason.
Kim, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Women cultivating greatness is my passion!
I have been holding events in the Houston, Texas area for nine years. I was doing these events free or at low cost because I wanted to give back to the Houston community.
I have a passion for helping women succeed in every area of their lives. At 30 years of age, I was diagnosed with Dyslexia. I always knew that I learned differently. But, I never let anything stop me from doing what I wanted to do or learning what I needed to learn. This is why education is very important to me so all of the organization’s events are geared toward educating women and helping them get “unstuck.” I believe that education is the key to success.
The mission of Women Cultivating Greatness is to create high energy educational experiences and networking events that will help women connect, communicate and collaborate in an atmosphere of Greatness! We want to empower and uplift women so they can release their God-given potential to the World! An organization dedicated to being of service to the community and giving back to other charitable organizations.
We want women to connect, communicate and collaborate so we can all help each other. In 2018, it is our goal to add Life Skills classes to our mission.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road but noting worth having comes easy. I am not stranger to work! Some of the struggles with having any Non-Profit 501c3 organization funding is always a challenge. Also, proper Marketing of our events has been challenging.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Women Cultivating Greatness – what should we know?
Women Cultivating Greatness
I am Kim Mason – creator and Executive Director of the organization.
I am responsible for creating the events we hold and managing the Executive Planning Team.
I am responsible for working with our Board of Directors.
I am known for holding awesome events in the Houston area and networking with people.
I enjoy connecting people who are able to help one another.
I am most proud of our team and what the organization has done in such a short period of time.
I am happy when people tell me that our events helped them get unstuck and that they know what to do to move forward. It is important to me to be a Servant Leader in the community.
What sets us apart from other organizations is our follow-up. We want to make sure people are helped and I have surveys at all of our events to make sure we hear what the ladies want from us.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Being a Servant Leader is number 1.
I am here to serve the women.
I have to have the compassion to do the work I do. It is difficult at times and I do not get paid for this.
I have to be passionate about what I do… my “Why” has to be intact at all times in order for me to continue.
I have to believe that God has put this on my heart.
I have to be organized.
I have to be dependable and trustworthy.
I have to be relatable and approachable.
