Meet Kim Woodford of Woodford Wellness in Museum District

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Woodford.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
A little over a year ago, a close family member of mine suffered a heart attack. This experience shook me to my core. I felt completely helpless and wanted to do anything I could to prevent this from happening again in the future. I have always had a strong foundation of spirituality in my life and this indeed did help me through this traumatic experience, but I wanted to do more.

At the time, I had been exploring the idea of Health Coaching. This career path and business opportunity really resonated with my soul as I am a very nurturing and caring person by heart. At the very least, I wanted to help my family and close friends live healthier, happier lives and pass on that knowledge and inspiration to others. I decided to enroll in an online school named The Institute for Integrative Nutrition in May of 2016.

The year was a whirlwind of facts, inspiration, and stretching myself to be the best possible version of myself that I could be. I loved it. After graduating in May of 2017 I launched my business, Woodford Wellness. I offer monthly health coaching programs to support and encourage those who desire a healthier lifestyle, but feel they need a little extra help. I offer healthier suggestions not only in the area of nutrition and exercise, but also I am an ear for those to open up to about relationship issues, career discontentment, financial woes, spirituality and whatever else may be on their minds. I support, encourage and keep my clients accountable to reach their desired health and wellness goals. We all could do this on our own, but it’s a lot easier having a coach rooting for you the whole way along the journey.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Clients have been excited about the idea of working with a health coach, but the challenge has been finding what works best for each individual client. Everyone is different and require different types of encouragement and accountability to keep them heading in the direction of their intended health and wellness goals. Finding what works best for each individual client has been challenging, but extremely rewarding in the end.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Woodford Wellness – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I help people become their best possible version of themselves. Be it through making healthier choices, finding a lifestyle that brings more peace to their lives, finding more time to spend with loved ones. I help my clients make sense out of their lives. We live in a very busy and hectic world. Fast food restaurants are on every corner. Work life can be stressful and tiring. As a health coach, I help my clients find the balance their true selves are yearning for.

On my website (www.woodfordwellness.com), I offer monthly health coaching programs to help guide my clients to where they would like to be. Be it physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I don’t tell my clients to do any one thing, but offer suggestions, encouragement, accountability, laughter, a listening ear, and a calm presence.

I am in the process of developing more programs for purchase on my website that will be self-guided and a monthly membership program for seasonally related health programs. We live in an informational age. Information is everywhere. I am there to help my clients make sense of it all. Guide them through their own personal health and wellness journey and come out victorious.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My future plans are to keep growing my business through the inspiration that comes to me and through being a constant learner. I am working right now on launching my first ever Healthy Holidays program. This program will be free and it will be offered December 1st – the 31st. I look forward to meeting new people through this educational and inspirational program. It will consist of a variety of healthier holiday recipes, quick daily tips to keep your sanity during this very hectic season, weekly challenges and of course prizes for participation.

Next year, I hope to launch new programs that will be self-guided by nature. A couple examples of these programs will be de-cluttering your home, gratitude journaling and plant-based and whole food support programs and more!
