Today we’d like to introduce you to Laith Daik.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Laith. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a BBA in Finance and Economics from the University of Houston, I went on to employ my degree in residential and commercial finance. I found an immediate calling in real estate finance starting as a mortgage loan originator. In 2001, I founded Texas Loan Star, Inc. Through a lot of dedication, hard work and commitment by our team, we have managed to stay independent and continue to grow the business. Our mission is to help our customers achieve the dream of home ownership. We work with our customers towards the goal by investing both time and energy into educating, instilling confidence, and setting expectations for them. We also work with many investors, educating and offering loan products that are suited to support their goals of financing investment real estate.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The mortgage lending industry is a “chameleon” business, constantly changing. As a business leader, you have to keep your company ahead of the changes and be ready to adapt to both economic and new ever changing regulatory requirements. Volume can swing abruptly due to the local market and interest rate environment. We have been fortunate to have benefited from our fighting spirit, resiliency and conservative approach. While many of our competitors either closed down or merged, we have managed to stay independent which is a great advantage for us and our customers.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Texas Loan Star – what should we know?
We are mortgage bankers funding residential real estate transactions including, Conventional, FHA, VA, Jumbo, and many types of Bridge loans. Types of loan transactions include Purchases, Refinance, Home Equity, Renovation, Construction, and bridge loan financing. We are known in the industry for our detailed review and approach with the customer. Closing on time and getting the complicated transactions closed are a few compelling reasons that we are the main resource for many agents, builders and bankers. We have a reputation for figuring out how to approve and close a loan for clients that were denied by one of our competitors, saving the day.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was very competitive and active. I enjoyed swimming, basketball, and riding. I was also very social and enjoyed spending time with friends. I had a great work ethic both in sports and academics, which led me to start working at around 10 years of age and have continued to work in some capacity ever since.
