Today we’d like to introduce you to LaTasha Jackson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us LaTasha. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my real estate career at the end of 2016 start of 2017. I was a Sales Director for over eight years for an Information Technology Staffing Agency. I traveled all over the US including: California, New York, Florida, Georgia and even outside of the US. I started helping IT consultants find housing as they accepted projects in Houston, TX and took the initiative to get my Real Estate License. Once me and my husband started our family, I decided to focus solely on my real estate career and my new baby. During one of which would be my last, work travel trip to New York with the Information Technology Staffing Agency, I went on the Wendy Williams Show. There, I met a lady by the name of Vicki Antonio. She introduced me to a luxury Real Estate Brokerage, Engel and Volkers, and the rest is history.
Has it been a smooth road?
HAHA! Define “smooth road”? It’s been highs and lows, bumps and MOUNTAINS, hard hits and even knock-outs as I grow my Real Estate empire. It is the most fulfilling and humbling experience I have ever gone through and I have learned so much about myself through the process. Aside from the obvious financial “struggles” (I don’t particularly like using words like that), it’s been challenging growing up or maturing as my friends, peers or “associates” my age are in a different stage in their lives. Naturally, some fall off or may not understand the big ‘WHY” of me deciding to go through what seems to be a painful process LOL. It’s lonely at times. Long nights and early mornings, so I am not in the club/bar like I use to be. I invest so much time and money in my business, I am not always available to go on many trips with friends. My love life with my husband had to take a little hit too because I am ambitiously striving to hit goals and meet quotas set for myself. Being a newly 30-year-old woman, my mid-life “what the hell am I doing” definitely set in. It’s funny, some women my age are looking for a husband and a baby. I have that and juggling a growing career is…a circus act at times. Again, I don’t use the word struggles. Through my faith, God has definitely seen me and seeing me through hard times.
What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
I am your Dream Home Catcher finding the perfect home for families and individuals the same. I’m helping someone build their own dream of finding Commercial space to open his/her/their businesses. Either way, you look at it, I make dreams come true through the acquisition or sale of Real Estate, while I do work for a profound luxury brokerage, luxury is not merely a definitive dollar amount. Luxury is providing an individual an experience through the process, The “White-Glove” approach. My technology background has made me very savvy and proficient with Real Estate tools that provide effective data to my clients to help them make the best decision for their needs. I am proud of how innovative I am and how I have made my real estate business my own. Again mixing my background in technology and even adding my background in Journalism Broadcast and acting and presenting Real Estate in a more engaging and interactive experience for all. I have done Virtual Reality Open Houses allowing Buyers to walk through the home with VR Glasses if they are not local. I have partnered with video production companies, to create not only Real Estate content, but movie concepts, news broadcast of the neighborhood, and simple IG Stories so Buyers/Sellers can feel engaged during the real estate transaction process. They call me Action Jackson because I am always in motion or Showtime Jackson because it’s always a show showing luxury Real estate. 😉
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Real Estate is definitely going to be more technology-driven. Amazon is already in talks of setting up an online marketplace to purchase homes. Zillow and Redfin have already made it to where you can purchase and list your homes with them directly. So, what do I do? I continuously find ways and pressure points why my client still needs that human-interaction. I don’t have a transactional mindset and my clients are never just a “transaction”. Going back to The “White-Glove” approach. Providing a service that a computer and auto-generated reply cannot handle. We have people moving from all over the world to Houston. Houston has so much more land to grow and our price points are lower in comparison to other cities and countries. We are constantly getting more first-time homebuyers, international investors and big businesses who want to grow here. I am here to service them. As a born and raised Houstonian, I welcome them with Southern Hospitality, Houston knowledge, open-arms and dependable information to be competitive with the other Realtors in Houston.
