Meet Lauren Haskett of Lauren Haskett Fine Design in Memorial

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Haskett.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always had an affinity for design. In grade school I would doodle ball gowns on my school papers and a few years later I started reading my mother’s Southern Living magazines. Once I was bit by the interior design bug, I never looked back. I worked for an Interior Designer while pursuing my Interior Design degree at the University of Oklahoma. That residential designer would later become my mother-in-law. She taught me so much about the residential field of design, things they didn’t teach in school. Upon graduation, I decided I wanted to specialize in Kitchen & Bath design and took a job with Kitchen & Bath Concepts in Houston. I was really trained to pay attention to even the smallest detail. After I had my oldest daughter, I knew I was ready to go out on my own and expand to working on the entire home. I started with the tiniest home office and now have a studio in Memorial.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have heard it said when you own a business, “the highs are high and the lows are lows.” I started my business as a new mother, which brought out a new level of efficiency in me. I only had a limited time to work, so I had to maximize every minute. I have learned that to balance my home and work life some things get delegated, and things that don’t truly matter get let go.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Lauren Haskett Fine Design – what should we know?
