Meet Lindsey Malone of BeatFace by Lindsey in Cypress

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Malone.

Lindsey, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always had a passion for the beauty industry. It started when I was younger in school doing my friends eyebrows. Along the way, I became a wife and mother and put my talent on hold to focus on a new journey. After a few bumps in the road, a few losses, and a failed marriage; I began to overcome my self-doubt and my interest was reignited by the booming makeup industry and all the new techniques that had become so popular.

I started doing live videos on Facebook and posting my makeup looks more often which sparked a friends interest to get her makeup done for an event. One client turned into two, and it was a ripple effect from there. From that point in 2017, until now, I have been published in Southern Bride Magazine for a styled wedding shoot and specialize in many different areas of makeup. From special effects makeup to weddings and any other event you can think of, I strive to make each individuals vision come to light. I make sure to gear each appointment to their needs and desires. I have participated in many different effects around Houston and surrounding areas. I travel to most of my clients so they can feel the leisure of being in the comforts of their own home. Being a freelance makeup artist has saved me in many ways and I thank God for giving me a talent I can share with others.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has not always been smooth in this journey. Raising two young boys and working a full-time job on top of booking clients on weekends and weeknights can be tiresome. But when I do makeup it never feels like work because I am doing what I love. Building a clientele in such a booming industry can be difficult and it is time-consuming. The hardest part is when I have to sacrifice time with my boys and time at church. In the end, all the sacrifices that I have had to make will be for the better of my family.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with BeatFace by Lindsey – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I am a freelance/self-taught makeup artist based out of Cypress, TX. I specialize in bridal makeup application and all other special events. I believe I’m known for my artistic ability to bring anyone’s vision to light and the dedication I have to perfecting my craft. I am most proud that I have built this business from the ground up in one of the most broken points of my life. I found myself after an abusive marriage by helping other women achieve their beauty needs. I am proud that I count on myself and only myself to do the work. I think what sets me apart the most is my infectious personality. When I get around people, my goal is to make them feel comfortable (since I will be in their personal space for a bit). What better way to do that then to laugh and banter back and forth.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
In 5-10 yrs I will be a licensed aesthetician with my own salon. Specializing in all areas of makeup, skin care, and micro-blading. Hopefully, I will have a few celebrity clients as well!
