Today we’d like to introduce you to Manuel Rojas.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Manuel. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started in music from a very young age thanks to the help of my parents and little by little I grew up in music studying preparing until the age of 16 I decided that my career would be music and that I would study to become a professional flutist there begins a beautiful story in music where he does long hours of preparation study and then he can receive my degree in music mentioning flute.
Music has allowed me to go to the European American African and Asian continent, where I was able to teach many flutists and offer concerts in the most important halls of each of these continents. I have recorded 9 CDs. In 2018 I moved to the city of Houston with my family, this time being a new time for me for my family and my career. I catalog him as a Renacer in my musical and family career.
Currently, I am a flutist of the Latin American Philharmonic of Houston, I am the CEO of the Conroe Campus of the Canzion Institute and I am recording a new album with the Venezuelan bandolista Moisés Torrealba that will be released soon.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
In any career there will always be obstacles or of course there have been obstacles in mine that fortunately I have been able to face and overcome for example in Venezuela when I started studying music was not seen as a career but as a hobby, it was something with What I had to fight, as well as all the effort to travel hours and hours every week to receive my Music and Flute classes were obstacles that were worth having overcome.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
As a flute player, I have specialized in Latin American music and in pedagogy which has led me to teach in the most important conservatories and music schools in America and Europe, being able to contribute new sounds and new techniques in the transverse flute, which It has filled with much satisfaction and joy.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I believe that the success in my career has been perseverance, discipline and power with my music communicating a message of peace and hope to thousands of people.
