Thanks for sharing your story with us Martina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My journey to building Drea & Co. has been an interesting one, filled with transitions and growth! I actually began my career out of college in the science industry before realizing my passions were much more closely aligned to the creative side of life. I always loved art, design, and photography but never had an outlet to express my talents. So, I created one. Drea & Co. was born in 2015 with a DSLR camera and the desire to create beautiful spaces and experiences for all. I started promoting my photography services and interior design work on social media. I created a website and a blog, and things started to take off from there. All very organically. I’ve taken my time to learn, fail, and figure a few things out about entrepreneurial life.
Today, Drea & Co. houses a few amazing service lines, some of which we are newly announcing! We provide photography and content marketing services to private clients as well as commercial businesses. In 2018, we launched our sister company Drea & Co. Home which now encompasses a line of home decor products and our existing interior decor services. We’ve got some really fun stuff planned for the home line this year!
Has it been a smooth road?
I always say that building a business is inherently challenging! That’s not necessarily a terrible thing, but it does take a lot of grit and discipline to push through to your goals. I’d say the biggest challenge that I’ve faced (and many solopreneurs can likely relate) is work-life balance. It’s easy to want to do it all, and there is always more work to be done! But, it’s really important to strike a balance between work and play. I’m getting better at that – but the hustle mentality is real.

Drea & Co. is a creative space at heart. We specialize in services ranging from photography, videography, and design to social media marketing. With the expansion of Drea & Co. Home, we now offer home decor products that I’m really proud of. Entering the merchandise space was important to me because I see that segment of the company leaving a mark on peoples lives and it really gave us a way to leave a small footprint of Drea & Co. in people’s homes.
We have a fun media platform called Drinks With Drea. It’s a theme that naturally developed because I love trying new drinks – anything from coffee, tea to cocktails, and wine. So we’ve created some awesome content around that.
What I love most about Drea & Co.’s growth, and perhaps what sets us apart, is that we are really developing into a lifestyle brand. And that’s always been the goal. I love how multi-faceted we are, and I’m excited to see some growth in those areas.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I’m a big proponent of the thought that you can make it anywhere, so with that being said – I love my city and how I’ve been able to connect to it on a deeper level since I started my business. It’s all about making new connections and stepping out of your comfort zone. I’ve explored my city and the people in it so much more, so I’d advise new business owners to do the same. It does wonders for your spirt and your profitability – which we can’t forget, is key!
