Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Garcia.
Hi Matthew, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I work in the Digital media Industry as a DI Colorist. I first discovered Color when I was working as an Offline Video Editor for a small production company in Pearland. It was at this position I came across a software called “DaVinci Resolve” I realized I have a passion for shaping light digitally and making beautiful images through the process of Color Grading.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Work in the film industry is never a smooth road, unfortunately. Finding work can be the difficult part but once you are consistent and make connections, your name will start to get around and eventually the work finds you.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in “Color Grading:” for Narrative films, Commercials and Music Videos. Color Grading is the process of altering Color and Light in Video to digitally enhance Video Projects and make them look more aesthetically pleasing. You can essentially think of it as Photoshop for Video.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Going to the movie theaters to have that experience of sitting in a cinema and getting lost in stories.
