Today we’d like to introduce you to MC BreeZe.
MC, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I started as an artist in the music industry but quickly understood my place was behind the scenes. From that point on, I started to mold my craft and network with independent artist and DJ’s. During that process, I met my business partner DJ Tae Boogie a.k.a Keonte Johnson and we formed the FRESHPACK DJ’s. As of today, we now have a total of 8 FRESHPACK DJ’s, and our own radio show from 10pm-12am every Tuesday on 953Jamz.com. I have recently began showing interest in being a brand ambassador for a few different companies. Grand 79 Vodka (a Texas made eight times distilled premium vodka) trusted me with that responsibility about three years ago. Since then I have become the Chief Marketing Officer for Grand 79 Vodka.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Doing the things necessary to get the proper recognition in the entertainment industry has been an uphill battle. There is always ups and downs, and Hit and miss. But the best thing I can tell anyone is “keep your eyes wide and mind focused”.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the FreshPack Houston story. Tell us more about the business.
FreshPack Houston is a promotion and marking company that also offers services from our respected and talented DJ’s. As one of the Founders for FreshPack Houston, I manage the DJ’s as well as booking events. Being apart of FreshPack Houston, I am also known for being the MC at many different events which is also a passion of mine. One of the things that I am most proud of is that we are a DJ family. Every DJ has their own lane and they are proficient in. To me that is very important because music is very therapeutic to many.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
As an entrepreneur, I’ve never relied on luck. However, we have been blessed to work with some of the most well respected DJ’s in Houston, we’ve been able to team up with different nonprofits and give back to the community as well providing a host of “lit” events.
