Today we’d like to introduce you to Meagan Watts.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Meagan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My passion for makeup started around 2014. I started doing my friend’s makeup and someone said I should doing makeup as a business. I was scared at first but I considered it. I enrolled in a makeup class at the “Modern Makeup Society” located in the Heights area. This class taught me the basics of makeup and how to be in professional settings such as fashion shows and photoshoots. I became a certified makeup artist and I grew with my talent. It is now 2020 and I can say that my career as a makeup artist has been great!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
This makeup journey has not been smooth. The struggles have been trying to stay focus and dedicated. Making sure that the clients are always satisfied. My biggest struggle was getting discouraged when I was surrounded by so many other great makeup artist because I didn’t think I was good enough at certain times.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a makeup artist. I specialize in natural makeup and known for doing makeup. I’m proud that I’m still able to do what I love and have loyal clients. What sets me apart from others would be my personality, I try to make all clients feel at home and provide great customer service. I also feel my prices are very affordable, I want the customers/clients to feel comfortable with the prices knowing they don’t have to spend so much money.
What were you like growing up?
I’ve always been a girly girl. I literally been into makeup since a little girl. I’m the baby and only girl of my kids so my mom and brothers always made me feel like a princess. I’m definitely a great person to be around very social and goofy. I love to have fun.
