Meet Megan Bennett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Bennett.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Growing up I’ve always loved fashion and the idea of dressing up. Thankfully, I grew up in a household where I was allowed to express my creativity the way I wanted to. As I went through high school, I tried to make myself interested in other areas such as business or psychology, but that just wasn’t me. I liked being involved in things that allowed me to express myself freely. At the end of high school, I decided last minute to major in Textiles and Apparel instead of Marketing. Through college, I’ve learned so much about the fashion industry. Involving myself in this industry has opened so many doors for me, including being signed to a modeling agency. I now collaborate with brands, talented peers, and friends for photo shoots and other projects. I’m as happy as I can be right now and I can’t thank God enough for the blessings I have received. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead.

Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of artists has changed? How do local, national or international events and issues affect your art?
The role of artists has definitely changed. In our society today, there’s lots of hate towards various groups of people. I believe kindness, respect, and inclusiveness are some of the best ways to combat all the negativity going on in the world. In fashion specifically, being inclusive is really important. It doesn’t matter what color, size, or gender you are, it’s about coming together and celebrating our individuality as human beings. As a young woman of color in the industry I work with, collaborate with, and support everyone who has a genuine soul.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
Instagram is my primary source. All of my work, as well as my contact information, is posted on my Instagram page. The best way to support me is through collaborations and bookings. I would love to model in many more shoots for brands, be a face for makeup, or any other projects. It’s my dream to work with creatives all over the world! I’m especially thankful to everyone who’s supporting me and helping my dream become a reality.
