Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Foster.
Monica, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
When I started my real estate business over in the Houston area in 2008, I wanted to be something different in real estate- no begging for business but rather establishing relationships with my clients and impacting the community in a positive way. I didn’t want to be a salesperson but rather a Real Estate Professional. To meet my goal I began obtaining certifications (11 so far) and giving back to the community. In the years that followed my business grew by leaps and bounds as more and more clients appreciated my knowledge and experience- evident by my reviews and referrals. In 2013, I formed the Monica Foster Team to better support my clients. Later, we were finally able to support our educational charities in a big way (primarily Communities in Schools Bay Area where we have been one of their major sponsors of the yearly Keep Kids in School Gold Tournament for 3 years now). For 2015, we placed in the Top 20 of all RE/MAX TX teams for the first time and in 2016 in the Top 100 in the US for the first time. We were also the #1 team in our market and #5 small team in all of Greater Houston for all brokerages. We also were only the second team ever to get more than 500 HAR reviews (with a 4.9/5.0 score) and now sit at 585 reviews. All in just under 9 years starting in a completely new area with tons of competition and Realtors who have lived here all their lives. It has been a testament to our team’s work ethic, knowledge, and professionalism that have gotten us this far so quickly. Now, the Monica Foster Team is one of the most successful and respected teams in greater Houston and we look forward to doing more in the future.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Coming to a completely new area with entrenched Realtors who have lived here all their lives. It has been a lot of work and extremely stressful at times. Managing a team has had its challenges as well as I prefer to have a small highly efficient team which required top-notch agents who don’t mind being on a team and systems in place that everyone follows along with common tools that everyone uses.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about The Monica Foster Team of RE/MAX Space Center – what should we know?
My team and I specialize in Residential Real Estate. We are known for our knowledge, experience (281 transactions last year alone) and tough negotiation skills. What sets us apart is our commitment to the customer, especially on the listing side where we do more marketing than anyone for our sellers. This marketing, along with the whole team having numerous certifications, and the highest review score/count combination in all of southern Houston sets us apart.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Hard work. Every aspect of the business whether it be working with clients, marketing, or business execution has required many sacrifices and constant hard work.
