Meet Natalia Gonzalez of Luxe Beauty Houston in Tomball

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalia Gonzalez.

Natalia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Luxe Beauty Houston was originally started by my mother, Lucy, operating under the name Facials by Lucy over 20 years ago. She built up her business single handedly and showed me that hard work and dedication to your craft can not only bring success but it can also fulfill you. After I had my son, she encouraged me to go to Esthetician School so I could enjoy the same career freedom she did. After working in Oil and Gas for 10 years, I finally listened to my mother. Shocker, I know. I loved my jobs in Oil and Gas but I always got bored after a while and being a single mother made it even harder when it came to taking time off because he was sick or something. It honestly was no surprise to me that when the layoffs started I was one of the first to go. I was just not that into it anymore. As I sat in a meeting room with the HR woman, I immediately felt a peace come over me. I just knew that God had bigger and better plans for me and I had just been too stubborn to see it sooner. I was born to follow in my amazing mother’s footsteps.

I grew up watching her give me facials, holding up a hand mirror while she delicately cleaned my face. I was always fascinated by it. Now I use the same techniques I watched for so many years on my clients.

I started out giving all of my friend’s free facials, this of course got them hooked because once you get a facial and feel your skin softer than ever you want it like that all the time. Then my friends started telling their friends and the rest is history. I even got all my guy friends to come in too!

My passion for making my client’s skin as flawless as possible is the most fulfilling job I have ever had. I get to watch their skin transform and they get to experience skin they thought only Hollywood celebrities could have.

I truly love what I do and I always say if I won the lottery one day I would still do facials.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road to being a business owner has not been without it’s challenges. There were some times where I was afraid to put myself out there. Fear of failure made me not even want to try sometimes. I believe that sometimes you can be your own worst enemy. Being negative is toxic to any business endeavor. I learned to overcome the fear by learning to think positive. In everything I did, I began to assume the best possible scenario was the only one that would happen. Some days it was easier than others to be positive, but the more I practiced being positive the more it started to be my reality. Suddenly, I was getting calls and texts from friends of friends saying they had heard how happy a client was and they wanted the same thing. Little by little the fear started to be replaced with pure optimism. Now I get to share this positive energy with my clients.

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Luxe Beauty Houston story. Tell us more about the business.
At Luxe Beauty Houston we specialize in customized skin care. We focus on the basics of good facials with gentle extractions combined with microdermabrasion which is like a light sandpapering of your skin to remove dead skin and gentle chemical peels to tighten and even skin tone. We believe that flawless skin can be achieved with the basics. We like to encourage our female clients to focus on flawless skin so they can forego makeup and simplify their routine.

In 2016, we added a medical director to our team and brought a new line of medical grade products that took our business to the next level. With these products, we are able to offer our client’s the best that skin care products have to offer. Anti-aging ingredients give our client’s skin they never thought possible.

With over 20 years of experience our knowledge base for treating different kinds of skin and skin issues is unbeatable.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The skin care industry is always flooded with new products that claim to erase the signs of aging and give you younger more beautiful skin. Fancier and weirder techniques always seem to be the new ultimate treatment. I don’t see that aspect of the skin care industry changing any time soon however, I do see a growing number of people that want to age gracefully. They don’t want the fancy treatments or the surgical aides.

I am hoping that instead of focusing on erasing the damage with fancy treatments the industry can focus on preventing the damage with proper sun protection.
