Thanks for sharing your story with us Katrina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always been an artist and I love sharing my gift with others. So, I decided to start hosting paint parties as a mobile side business about eight years ago while living in Huntsville, TX.
When I moved back to my home community on the Eastside of Houston, in the North Shore area, I realized that anything that had to do with “The Arts” was inside the 610 loop. That’s when I stepped out and began expanding my business with an art studio. This opportunity allowed me to give back to the community and provide monthly events for all ages. Paint Appetit is a home away from home with an environment of learning, creating, and relaxing.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One challenge I had to overcome was wearing all of the necessary hats to run a small business. Spreading the word, working a full-time job and getting constant traction were all challenges. Running a small business has its ups and downs, but I’m very blessed.
Paint Appetit – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Paint Appetit offers private lessons, workshops, art camps, monthly events, and so much more! I specialize in painting, drawing, arts & crafts, graphic work, art education, etc. I’m proud that I can provide a place for the art lovers of all ages to come learn and be inspired all in one setting. Paint Appetit doesn’t just provide services, but we are here to build long relationships.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Finding peace and deciding to take control of my destiny, which lead me to receive the keys to my first art studio.
