Meet Sofia Argañaraz of Party Shots by Martibirds in Lake Conroe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sofia Argañaraz.

Sofia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
March 2017 to be exact, I was moving to Texas from Argentina with an Au Pair program. Shortly after arriving, I meet Jason, today my husband, who was the one who motivated me 100% to fulfill my dream as a photographer once I finished my program as an international student. Following Jay’s advice and his experience in his business, Martibirds LLC, I have been able to accomplish many goals in my business that gives me so much happiness and joy today, Party Shots by Martibirds.

I improve myself so much since I started as a photographer , but , also I am enjoying the wonderful life of having my own business. Clearly God had these plans for me, for which I feel very blessed and grateful for all those who believed in me , when this seemed to be just an “idea” especially to my family in Argentina and friends.

As for me, I am a simple Argentine and Capricorn dreamer, I love art ; all kinds of art , I love being in the nature, I love dogs, I love to travel , a lot ; I mean who doesn’t right ? I love meet people from different countries, being in places that I never being before. With a degree in human resources and today a photographer like my mom.

Has it been a smooth road?
Without a doubt, the road was complicated, sometimes impossible at times. But it was worth it, if I learned anything in these years it’s that you have to go through so many bumps roads in order to get there. It will never be easy, otherwise, where would be the satisfaction of accomplish that goal that you dreamed of so much and feeling that all the work and dedication today see its fruits.

For me, At the beginning, it was loneliness, being away from my country, my family and friends, but I have learned to connect in a special way , while being away. To feel their love through a call, a photo or a simple letter. Then , was inserting me into a new society, learning a new language and its customs and I want to emphasize that I am still learning it. But I’ll always find my way , I was strong enough to go through everything and I try to keep it in mind. I always tell myself as a mantra , you are positive, and strong. You can do it.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Party Shots by Martibirds – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
My specialization is working with children, child portraits, newborns, and portraits in general. I have several clients who call me “the toddler whisperer” that’s what I know for, since for some reason, God has given me the gift of being able to connect with children of different ages or nationalities , and this is something that I find “magical”since each child is a different world.

I never experienced a photo shoot as a simple photo shoot , it is an experience between the kid and his mother, a baby who has just arrived in the world, a happy couple with a baby on the way. I am proud as a company to be able to offer that experience and leave it portrayed in a photograph.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Texas.

We have visited with my husband several places in Texas and the truth is living in Lake Conroe, is amazing . Nature with its animals, the community. Texas is a state where people are proud to belong, their steak, their bulls, and their country music. I see and I assimilate that passion, to the Argentine passion.

If I could change something probably will be the increase of public transport in the city, so we don’t need to depend so much on a car.
