Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Brand.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born in Colombia but grew up in Venezuela. Moved to the US in 2000 to pursue an MBA in the University of Dallas. I worked as an HISD teacher for eight years and in 2014, I decided to get into the Real Estate World. I always found interesting making market analysis and helping other people with transactions. I worked four years for Coldwell Banker and have been a Keller Williams Realty agent since 2017.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has been a road full of enriching and learning experiences. At the beginning, I could say it was a little intimidating. Joining a big broker and being exposed to so many diverse clients was definitively a challenge, but Houston is a great plaza to work with and to learn from. In this industry, experience means confidence, knowledge and capabilities, and I have witness this first hand.
Having such a wide array of multicultural clients and languages, and being one of 33,324 agents in one of the largest cities in the country, have definitively driven me to find the tools necessary to stand out.
Today, in this digital era, as realtors we face new challenges. iBuyers, for instance, are becoming a great threat and game changers in the industry. They market themselves as a “solution” for those clients who have enough equity and feel that listing a house on the market is a very cumbersome job. This is an easy prey for this type of platforms, and they are being really aggressive in targeting these types of buyers and sellers.
As realtors, we need to bring added values to the table to be able to compete with the “hazzle free” philosophy of these online platforms. In my case, creating a multidisciplinary team including a staging company, professional photography, 3D videos, organization consultants, and my face to face personal interaction with the client, have made a huge difference. The way these iBuyers are communicating with buyers and sellers makes them big competitors and game changers in our current real estate market.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like the most: The cultural diversity that is evidenced not only in the people but in the places, restaurants, neighborhoods, etc. Makes it a great city for me, as an immigrant, to live in and adjust.
What I like the least: Traffic and long distances.
