Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Castle.
Patricia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My story started three years ago when I started sharing my photos of my work on social media. Even though I started sharing my work in 2016 the story behind my work actually began when I was a child in about 3rd or 4th grade. One day two of my friends and I went to the park to ride our bikes on the trails for a while, we rode until we got tired and stopped to sit down and take a break outside this baseball field. We were laughing and joking like children do when all of a sudden I started to get this heavy feeling we were being watched the feeling was so strong it was distracting then I followed the feeling and looked up and there right in front of us stood this big old tree, it was the heart of summer so the tree was blooming with these dark-green colored leaves that were so beautiful and then I saw it there was a face with eyes and a. mouth on it not a friendly face either.
I couldn’t take my eyes off of it in disbelief so I started to tap my friends. Asking telling them to look but they. Didn’t see anything I tried pointing out the facial features but still they didn’t see it and in that moment I knew I was different. Instead they laughed at me called me crazy and made jokes all the way home after that day I never spoke of it again to no one, but I always said to myself I wish there was a way I could show them what I see. I realize now though that it wasn’t time then, in 2016 I went through some hardships and challenges in my life which made me feel hopeless I felt as though I had failed my children, my family and myself. One evening I called on God and said “father I’m ready to come home I have failed in my life and most importantly I have failed my children”, a couple of weeks later God and spirit put me back on track by shining a light on my path reminding me of my gift which is the gift of sight and here I am today sharing my photo’s of what I see and what I have always seen my entire life. Reminding me who I am and to always let my light shine through no matter what.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road is never smooth lol…I’m a struggling artist so there’s always obstacles and challenges in my journey like money issues, being a single parent to three growing boys, and staying true to who I am no matter what.
The Art Of Nature – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The Art of Nature speaks for its self its just that. I take pictures of nature capturing it in those very moments, my photo’s are not like your regular nature photo’s they are unique really capturing the art of nature. I’m known for photo’s in which the nature in my photo’s have faces and sometimes expression. What sets me apart from other photographers is the fact that I use my phone to take my pics.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is fulfillment within one’s self the feeling of accomplishment and achievements you go through on your journey to success. Happiness, emotional fulfillment just enjoying the ride.
