Today we’d like to introduce you to Regina Toliver.
Regina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
One morning I woke up and I thought to myself “What is a great way to generate more income while being a positive influence to my community?” So I thought about creating an apparel line, the name means so much to me because it represents positivity. I’m a firm believer in The Most High and all things created are destined for greatness. Especially when you apply yourself, The acronym [F.A.N.C.Y.] in F.A.N.C.Y. Your Aura is a phrase that I live by, “Only through FAITH will you receive your blessings in ABUNDANCE. NURTURE the CREATIVITY that was given unto YOU. (Taking the first letter of each bold word). I must admit at first it wasn’t easy, I did a lot of research and spent a lot of money for about the first six months using other vendors to produce my products. I finally said to myself “F*** this! I’m going buy all the equipment and learn to print these up myself”. I knew then it was my niche, and I actually enjoy creating and producing my own products. The rest is history.
Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been easy. In the beginning, I struggled keeping buyers engaged, I had no clue how I was going to market/promote my brand. I prayed long and hard about it. It’s like my prayers were answered overnight. My Facebook following had gone from 170-over 4,000 friends and this was my personal page! I kid you not…I still have almost 900 friend requests sitting waiting to be accepted. LOL, I think if it weren’t for the support of my family and some close friends along with my determination, I would’ve given up. I’ll ride this s*** until the wheels fall off, even then I’ll try to coast on the frame.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the F.A.N.C.Y. Your Aura story. Tell us more about the business.
F.A.N.C.Y. Your Aura was founded by myself in 2018. It’s an online apparel store with the mission to spread faith, love and peace throughout the community and the world. I’m very big on positivity/prayer/meditation, which is why I wanted to start this company. I felt the best way to reach the people is by wearing something that you feel good about! I sell products such as tees, hoodies and sweatshirts (other apparel coming soon). I’m known for my positivity and dope spirit, sounds cliche, right? I know. LOL, I’m also known for my creative designs, especially the “Rule Right” Lion Tee. Shoutout to Judah. What I’m most proud of as a company is the fact that a lot of people know the brand and the feedback from the customers speaks volume. When someone make a purchase and give my company that shoutout, it’s the best feeling in the world knowing that I was able to make someone happy with my work! I think the key thing that sets me apart from others is that you just have people out here selling the same stuff, mine is based on positive energy/feelings and I love it!
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next 5-10 years, I hope to see my business really expanding, prayerfully moving from home-based into a commercial building with mass production and into department stores, but only The Most High knows what the future holds. What I do know is that things are moving in the right direction!
