Today we’d like to introduce you to Rika Lee.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
As a little girl Growing up I was always excited about dress up and playing in makeup. As I got older my playtime became my reality so I invested in my appearance and took a great interest in continuing my career path into the essence of beauty and the artistry of makeup.
In 2012 when I enrolled into college my roommates, friends and ladies around campus would see how well I did my makeup and would ask me to do theirs. From that moment, I realized my passion could become my career and my career was a gift I really enjoyed. I had people that saw my work and drive, encourage me to pursue a makeup career.
A few years went by and though I found my passion, I didn’t believe I could turn it into a career. I was still enrolled in school pursuing a Health Science degree. Though graduating in 2016, I was nervous to take the next step. I was subjected by fear, along with becoming a new mom in 2018, going through depression, and multiple health issues, emergency surgeries; I made myself believe I wouldn’t have the time or capability to be a business owner.
Jan 2020, God showed me a vision and built me path that I could no longer ignore. I had a purpose here and a calling to use the gift He had given me despite the fear of me failing. I now had the courage to pursue my dream and turn my hobby into a business. By God’s grace I am still here with my vision and my plan that I put forth to birth and blossom Graced Faces MUA. I have to admit it was not always easy, I faced many trial and errors but despite those obstacles, I received an overflow of victories.
Being a “Mom”trepreneur is challenging but I have learned balance is key!
My goal is to stay invested with building my clientele as a rising make-up artist, as well as growing a great rapport with every client.
My dedication is to meet the needs of each client, while building my brand I ensure that you will have the ultimate Graced experience with every encounter. My motto is to “Make every lady who sits in my chair feel beautiful and Graced.” -Rika
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Along the way there were a few struggles that included my health, time management, being a single mom, having a full time career as a Health Administrative Specialist and trying to maintain a social life. Being in the beauty industry there are lots of trial and error. I found what worked and what didn’t work for me. The things that maximized my business I stuck with it. I stayed persistent and persevered to reach my goals.

My business name is Graced Faces MUA. I am a Houston Make-up Artist. I specialize in the artistry of make-up for all skin tones, male and female.
My unique techniques and signature make-up looks gives me my distinctive individuality. My perseverance, work ethic, genuine love for my clients and passion that shows in my application through my beautiful clients set me apart for the rest.
I am extremely proud of my clients for making my brand unique and awakening the amazing artist in me. If it were not for them there would not be a Graced Faces MUA.
Graced Faces MUA is located on the Northside of Houston. We service every occasion Wedding, Maternity, Graduation, Prom, Birthdays, Engagements, Everyday make-up and much more. We have 2 services that consist of “Soft Glam” and “Graced Glam” We do offer travel services as well. We also offer Beginner One-on-One and Want to be an Artist Make-Up Classes. What are your plans for the future?
Our future plan is to continue to expand and reach the community as well as assist with free makeovers for the less fortunate. We have big things coming in 2022!
