Rosalyn, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I decided to purchase the Lawn Doctor franchise in April 2014. I went to training for the franchise in August 2014. I opened Lawn Doctor of Cypress in January 2015 while working at a regular job 6 days a week and 60 hours per week. I was determined to be successful. Prior to owning a Lawn Doctor franchise I had 10 years of prior lawn care experience with a lawn care competitor but I knew I could give my customers better service and that’s why I wanted to open the business. I researched other lawn care franchises but Lawn Doctor was a better fit for me and my family.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been smooth for me. I had to work 2 additional jobs in 2015 and 2016 while growing the business in order to take care of my family. The struggles were having enough income to cover personal expenses as well as Lawn Doctor operating expenses that’s why I had to work the 2 additional jobs. Now in 2017 I finally was able to attain enough customers that will allow me to focus on Lawn Doctor of Cypress and not have to work those additional jobs.
Lawn Doctor of Cypress – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We specialize in lawn fertilization, weed control, mosquito control, flea and tick control, insecticide and diseases of the lawn. Our Customer Service sets Lawn Doctor of Cypress apart from others.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is being able to set your own schedule and work in a business that you enjoy doing, Also, success is having the freedom and flexibility to spend time with your family.
