Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Fulton.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Actually, I have always been on the other side of the camera. Always having my photo taken. When I picked up a camera, it was a few years back but just more for fun and because I loved to take photos of my kids!! My dad knew this and always encouraged me to do something with photography but never really had the guts too. I mean really? I have worked with some phenomenal photographers and always thought I could never even compare!!!! Well two years ago my Dad passed away and something he wanted to give me before he passed was his Canon 6D. It wasn’t until a year after he passed that I was given the camera of his. When I got this camera I just KNEW I had to make my dad proud! I started out just wanting to use photography more as a hobby and not as a job. I wanted to capture more moments of my kiddos. But, as I started to get more into it, I realized it was everything that I ever wanted!! This was exactly what I was meant to do. I had finally found something I enjoy and love doing!!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I first got my camera I had no idea what I was even doing with it. It was confusing and I honestly just wanted to give up on. I started to watch more videos on how to use it and learned more about the manual settings. As I learned more about my camera I decided I wanted to learn how to edit too! OH BOY haha. Editing was a huge challenge because learning Lightroom at first was a little confusing but learning photoshop was even more confusing. So many times I just wanted to give up because it just didn’t make sense to me. Luckily, a great friend of mine who is also a photographer gave me some pointers and offered me help! I felt discouraged and just thought “man, what am I doing!?” However, I moved passed it and took the constructive criticism I was given and learned from it! Hoping soon to take some workshops so I can continue my learning!! I feel like you can never stop learning!

I’m a photographer. I specialize in Maternity/Motherhood/Birth / and Family photography! I’m known for my Maternity Photography mostly. I’m proud of how far I’ve come in such a small amount of time! But the learning never stops!!
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I don’t have one specific favorite. I really just enjoyed anytime spent with my family.
