Today we’d like to introduce you to Sergio Lopez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Sergio . So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started with writing, short stories and scripts, and then started learning more about the process of filmmaking and quickly fell in love with it. Movies have always been a huge part of my life ever since I was young, I was compelled by the cinema magic in the “behind the scene” features on my dvd’s and it made my love for film grow. Now I produce, write and direct my own short films and have founded my own production company “LaGorila Films”.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not at all, there have been obstacles. Mainly the rejection, you’re always gonna have someone telling you “NO” and putting you down but you just have to roll through it. The road is bumpy but definitely worth the travel.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with LaGorila films – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We’re an independent film company focused on low budget short films and features. We’re known for producing genre films such as horror and suspense/thrillers. The thing that we are most proud of is our teams work ethic, we work on a shoe string budget and we all put our heart and soul into our work to make sure and have the best film out. That is also the one thing that sets us apart from the rest.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
A full length feature film is what we have planed for the future and we’re looking forward to submit that film in the Austin Film Festival next year. The one change we plan on making us to focus less on short films on more on full features.
