Today we’d like to introduce you to Shannon Crain.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Shannon. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I first realized I loved interiors during summers I spent with my Gran. She taught me that quality was more important than trends, especially when it came to her charming country home.
After college, I joined the editorial staff at PaperCity Magazine. I remember the Home editor loved the same things I did, and he took the time to teach me about his styling and design endeavors. Some of my favorite memories are the ones when he let me join him on photoshoots.
From there, branching out on my own in North Carolina was natural. I loved having easy access to so many great vendors in High Point and being surrounded by so many designers.
Being back in Houston is so fun – I love this city. I am grateful for my team and the clients who trust me with their homes.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Oh, I believe struggles are basically life lessons. Of course, I’ve had bumps along the way. One time I ordered a sectional backwards, and let’s just say nothing like that has ever happened again. Ever. Definitely grateful for each lesson!
Please tell us about Shannon Crain Design.
Shannon Crain Design is a residential interior design firm. It’s such a delight to create custom interiors that are both stylish and functional. I’d definitely say that we’re bringing a light and fresh approach to traditional decorating. As lead designer, I’m most proud of the firm for going above and beyond what is asked to add comfort and warmth to each home.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Hmmm…. I would have told my younger self to charge what you’re worth and don’t apologize.
