Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie “MiMi” Klaproth.
Hi Stephanie “MiMi”, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a woman of Faith, wife to the love of my life, mother to incredible grown children, and grandmother to 2 beautiful grandchildren – who happily named me as their MiMi. I am an entrepreneur, creative designer and love life!
For as long as I remember, I’ve suffered from extreme anxiety. During the prolonged Covid-19 pandemic, my sweet hubby was going through cancer, and being there for my family, my mental health was suffering, and I knew I had to do something not just for me, but for my loved ones.
Because of my anxiety, it’s been my life’s journey to find moments of happiness & peace in all the chaos. I have forever dreamed of having my own brand of products and starting a company to help others. That is why I started Mimik Essentials.
My mantra of “Relax.Breathe.Repeat” is spelled in an ode to my lil grandsons repeating, repeating, repeating words constantly as learning during lockdowns and I decided to use my name as the fun spelling as Mimik. Pronounced “Mim-ic”
I want to grow the company to leave a legacy for my loved ones. It’s important to me to also contribute a portion of proceeds annually to organizations close to our hearts such as cancer research, mental wellness and autism awareness.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Owning a new business means wearing every hat in the closet, sometimes all at once. The struggle is real but I continue to repeat to myself it’s going to be worth it. Push, push, prevail.
The hardest part as an online business is getting your business found amongst the zillion other web searches.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I feel as though the scents that I have created are very specific. I try to read people, especially in person to see their reactions and joy. Scents are very specific to each individual, much like foods. I think the thing I’m most proud of is that I am not afraid to take a risk because I believe in this business and myself wholeheartedly that this is something not just important to building my empire but special as well.
We mix a room spray named “Stinks So Good”. It’s in ode to my Czech Grandmother that in her language translation said that vs smells so good.
Eczema runs in our families as well and our formulation of oatmeal, milk and honey products really have been helpful in this condition. We have this in bathbombs, lotion and body butters.
Our rose water is so luxurious after a bath or shower. It locks in moisture and made with pure ingredients of rose, geranium and aloe.
All our products are very affordable as this was important to me so people could use often for self care and find joy in relaxation.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I probably have read every self help, every entrepreneur bio there is to learn from. Knowing how many essential oils are mentioned in the Bible just further concretes my notion of how important scents are in health and healing.
