Meet Stephano T. of Eating with Stephano in League City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephano T.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My Instagram journey started in 2013 where I posted a variety of pictures: outfits of the day, pets, food, and other typical things. After a while, I noticed that my audience on my personal Instagram was not as interested in seeing photos of food as I was in sharing food photos. After some consideration, I decided to start another Instagram dedicated to food, @eatingwithstephano, in January 2018. I created my blog as a way to show off some of the amazing food that the wonderful and diverse city of Houston has to offer.

After I started my food Instagram, I was able to meet a lot of local foodies. The Houston foodie community is very friendly and welcoming, so my food Instagram became a way for me to make new friends from all areas of Houston, all passionate about the same thing: food.

In January 2019, I published my own website, www.stephano.me, for a place to write more in-depth articles about food, fashion, and showcase my photography portfolio.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Thankfully it has been a smooth road. At first, I struggled with learning how to photograph inside restaurants. While some might have beautiful interiors, they aren’t always the easiest to photograph in. After some help from my friends in the foodie community, learning how to use my camera, and buying a portable LED light, photographing food in the dimmest of restaurants has been made easy.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Eating with Stephano – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I specialize in food photography in restaurants. I am really proud of my photo’s ability to show off how delicious food is through color, texture, and composition. What set’s my Instagram apart the most is the amount of desserts and drinks I have posted. I don’t intend to post so many desserts and drinks; I just have a bit of a sweet tooth. I also have a separate written blog where I write more details about some restaurants and food events in Houston.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
While I will always be Houston based, I am interested in traveling more and eating more food from around the world. I would like to writing more blog posts, some about different places I’ve visited, and I am thinking about having guest writers join in to share some of their perspectives on food, both locally and otherwise.

I am starting a project called Houston Street Snaps, focusing on portraits of Houstonians. I noticed that there were not a lot of photographers taking photos of everyday Houstonians, so I thought I would try my hand at it. Portraits are a completely different type of photography from food photography, but I am looking forward to the challenge.
