Meet Susan Berry-Garcia of Corporate Seventy 7 in Central Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Susan Berry-Garcia.

Susan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
A few years ago, my husband and I were at a party where there was a live band. My husband has always been a musician, he’s been playing bass since he was 14. That day we decided that we wanted to create our own variety band. Last year, we finally started piecing everything together and that is when we were able to book our very first wedding! It has been a long and hard year, starting something and actually going forward with it is really hard, but we know the quality of work and service we offer. We know that each musician we hand select will always give their best efforts, and we are really looking forward to where this can take us.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The hardest part for me is really putting myself out there and selling the band. I struggle with reaching out and trying to team up with other vendors, but I am doing my best to stay consistent. We want people to hear us live and see what we are capable of. We know we have so much to offer to our clients, but right now, our main focus is finding those clients so that they can hear and see for themselves all we have to offer.

Please tell us about Corporate Seventy 7.
We are an live entertainment event band and we play a wide selection of songs and genres. We offer our services to anyone that is needing an event band, from bars and clubs to private events, we can do it all! With over ten years of experience in the music industry, it was always our desire of ours to perform, so in 2018, we decided to take a leap of faith and make a band! As a band and company, we are truly proud of the direction we are headed.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Going to NYC with my mom when I was seven. I remember walking down Times Square with her in the middle of Spring and really soaking in my surroundings. I have always had big dreams and wanted to achieve the biggest goals. NYC was amazing because I truly felt that I was meant for great things, even at such a young age. Looking back now, as I have just turned 26, I really believe that it has helped mold me in the ambitious and driven woman I am today.
