Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamika Griffin.
Tamika, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Several years back, I owned an educational franchise located in Missouri City, Texas. Business was great and I loved what I did. However, I realized that I built my life around my business and not my business around my life and the things that were important to me.
I have been married for nine years and I have two beautiful children, ages 20 and 8. During the time I owned the franchise my family did not see much of me because I was always working. My life was not reflective of my personal value system.
I was successful financially, but not so much personally. I did not have time for my family, friends, health or my spiritual practice. I was exhausted and not very happy.
So I began to pursue something beyond external success. I began to pursue my soul. On this journey, I discovered that being still in meditation gave me clarity, confidence, strategy and power that I never had before.
So I combined my solopreneur experience and spiritual practice into a 4-step proprietary system called “The Morph Model” for women solopreneurs.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has not been smooth. The road has been filled with trial and error. I have failed more times than I have succeeded.
Many of my failures came from impatience, lack of clarity and strategic systems. However, I can look back with gratitude and say that every detour I made, I learned from.
Embrace Your Power International – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Embrace Your Power is for women solopreneurs who desire to ditch their imposter identity and step into their authentic power.
As women, we struggle with the critical voice that compares versus compliment and perfectionism that paralyzes and stunts our growth.
The Morph Model eliminates this mindset while simultaneously creating a success ritual inclusive of a spiritual practice and strategic business systems.
What sets me apart from other coaches is I deal with the full spectrum of success and help women build a business model that is suited for their lives.
I am most know for my quarterly Mastermind Dinners held here in Houston at Steak 48. During these intimate settings of 20 women solopreneurs, they bring their most pressing challenges and walk away with a solutions, next steps and connections with other women in the city that can also be influential on their solopreneur journey.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I personally define success as alignment with my personal value system. My values include:
Spirituality
Financial responsibility
Relationships
Health & wellness
My work
My personal values provide structure for my life and allow me to prioritize those things that are important to me. I plan out these categories just like I plan out my workday, so that nothing is left to chance.
