Meet Tammy Didier of Arolistic Naturals in North of Houston in Conroe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tammy Didier.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Tammy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My love of science, fascination with how the human body works, and my desire to help others, lead me to a career in nursing in my late twenties. Unfortunately, I realized the medical field wasn’t exactly what I thought it was. I was disappointed to see prescriptions given out for absolutely everything.

I have always believed that the body has an innate ability to heal itself with the proper care. Holistic practices that include healthy diet choices with herbs, fruits and veggies, chiropractic care, relaxation techniques, exercises, stretching, and breathing techniques, were rarely discussed with patients. It was simply “take this pill and see you in a month”. After all, it takes time to explain these alternative methods to patients and there were more patients that we had to see.

After years of witnessing polypharmacy and seeing how a side effect of one pharmaceutical lead to another pharmaceutical, I decided this was not for me. I began studying the therapeutic properties of plants and became a Certified Aromatherapist. In 2016 Arolistic Naturals was created. It was originally an online aromatherapy business. My studies of therapeutic plants eventually lead me to studying cannabis. It was shocking to me that such a healing plant has been illegal for so many years. It was then I decided I had to educate not only consumers but medical personnel as well about the healing properties of cannabis. This was something I knew would not be an easy task online, so my husband, Dave Didier, RN (ICU Registered Nurse) and I opened our brick and mortar store May 2019.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The struggle of starting a business is real. Breaking the stereotype of a cannabis-based business within a conservative state has created even more challenges. A month after our store opened, our merchant processing was completely shut down. We received a phone call and was told at the end of that day we could no longer accept credit card payments due to the fact that we sold hemp products. Although this is now getting better, most banks refuse to open an account for a hemp-based business.

Marketing our business comes with its challenges as well. Social media will not approve ads to market hemp products. The FDA will send warning letters to cannabis businesses for making any medical claims about their products. If customers leave a review stating any claims of curing or treating any medical condition, those reviews have to be deleted from the company website or social media accounts immediately.

Educating our consumers is key to other obstacles we have seen such as the incorrect information that plagues the internet regarding CBD and low quality, cheap products that are sold by some that are merely interested in catching the “green wave” and making a few bucks. We are hopeful the new regulations in Texas will assist with preventing low-quality products from being sold and consumers being misinformed.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Arolistic Naturals – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We specialize in holistic wellness through plant-based products.

Our clients love the variety of high-end hemp products we offer, with our Broad-Spectrum Hemp Oil Tinctures being a favorite.

We are extremely proud of the products in our store. We will not offer any product that contains artificial flavors, scents, or colors. We insist on batch-specific third-party testing for the products we choose to carry.

We consult absolutely free of charge with each and every client regarding their specific goals with our products, their current medications and possible interactions, and specific dosing instructions to get the best benefit possible.

We set ourselves apart from other hemp/CBD companies by combining our medical training with our cannabis education which gives us the ability to provide extensive education and guidance to our clients.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are on a mission to get the medical community to understand the benefits and therapeutics of plant-based wellness, specifically cannabis therapeutics.

It is our desire to educated the medical community on the medicinal properties of cannabis and bring to light the damage prohibition has caused.

We feel as we educate our community, they will begin to get comfortable speaking with their physicians regarding hemp therapeutics and in turn the medical community will finally address the claims of individuals positive experiences with hemp.

After only one year, we are already receiving calls from medical facilities wanting education from us and I consider that success in itself.
