Today we’d like to introduce you to Terri Green.
Terri, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m member of the Army National Guard and part-time bartender. I saved money for several years to get my business started then started working out of my sister garage. Business quickly blossomed as the demand for balloons and party supplies grew. A year later, I decided to open up my very first brick and mortar to keep up with demands and most importantly bring something new and fun to Houston. The Luxury Loons opened its doors on May 11, 2019, and plan to be the first of many.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I faced so many challenges along the way. Starting off, I didn’t have a large enough vehicle to transport supplies. The built-out of my store was more of a challenge due to mold and a lot of other issues with the building. The day of my grand opening it poured down raining and I didn’t get the crowd I was expecting but it was still an amazing event.
Please tell us about The Luxury Loons.
We specialize in custom balloon design such as arches and columns, party supplies and party rentals. Our mission is to bring something fun to our community while giving back. We are proud sponsors of 3 non-profit organizations. We will have an annual painting day for children with special needs.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory is being spoiled by my mom and Uncle Junie.
